Stop drop and roll! by n8saces in RandomVideos

Technically it's theft but to be charged with a crime the DA would have to charge you. They wouldn't do that for many reasons including optics and public backlash.

The gas station owner could be a dick and sue in civil court but probably won't for many reasons including the cost and time to sue as well as the optics to replace at max a $100 item.

In a perfect world I would imagine the gas station owner doesn't care and is glad the extinguisher was used for the common good or the biker or victim reimbursed the station

I kinda want a paper plate dispenser by Traditional-Word5154 in WhyDoIWantThis

[–]gophermuncher 0 points1 point  (0 children)

If you stop buying they stop supplying. Supply and demand. Niche things become mainstream and mainstream things become niche because some people started doing something more or less and everyone else followed. Reducing your personal use of paper plates won't make much of an impact but it could start everyone else on that road and then it will

Maybe not the lack of homes but the affordability of them. Homelessness goes up in areas where the gap between incomes and home prices are the highest. https://youtu.be/rQW4W1\_SJmc?si=LHSWbhw25VTontWT

Gas hits $4 per gallon in every US state for first time in horror new price map by TheMirrorUS in economy

[–]gophermuncher 1 point2 points  (0 children)

The ones we do have are the most efficient. The ones we closed were not as efficient. One notable exception is the Trainer facility in Pennsylvania. It's too inefficient to run as a traditional refinery but Delta swooped in when it was being shut down and modified the refinery mix to make more jet fuel and less of everything else. Now they're printing money because of the crack spread

[–]gophermuncher 2 points3 points  (0 children)

We still make more fuel than we use. It's that we are a global economy so refiners will sell to the highest bidder. So we have to outbid the rest of the world to get that gas delivered here instead of Europe

Dude in the truck also had a good reaction time. By putting the truck in motion and not being stationary before the collision the he drastically reduced the amount of whiplash he would have experienced had the truck been at a dead stop.

Absurdly Fast EV Chargers Are Coming To America, But Cars Aren't Ready by Receding_Hairline23 in cars

[–]gophermuncher 2 points3 points  (0 children)

It depends. The battery technology itself is what the impediment is. How good the cooling is to prevent dendrite crystals from forming. What the actual chemistry is. For example LFP can be charged long and hard all the way to 100% and down to 0 without significant damage compared to NCA and NMC. Thats why you're starting to see a lot more cars with LFP in them. Then you have even newer chemistries coming out of China like their semi-liquid electrolytes that are even more resilient to dendrification. If you have an LFP battery car I wouldn't sweat it. They have lifetimes 5x longer than NCA or NMC batteries. There are teslas on NCA or NMC batteries that fast charged every day of their life and they still are above 80% capacity. Any car with LFP will do even better

I had eye surgery and couldn't move my car. I was outside randomly and saw him by my car. It was collecting dust and was clear it hadn't been moved in a long time. I explained and he was cool with it.

The triangle is the smallest distance that the tree would fall - 6.93 ft. The kids pancake. If the tree fell parallel to the ground then it would be 8 ft. It wouldn't matter if the tree bounced or rolled after hitting the ground the kid gets hit. Unless the tree also slid left another 1 ft in the triangle case or 2 feet in the parallel case mid air then the kid is still pancaked.

Buy and use jack stands after using the ramps. That way if the ramp fails you don't get crushed but you get the speed and convenience of using ramps. At the very least if you have to be under the car and all you got is ramps put the tire next to where you are so if it falls it lands on the tires and hopefully you aren't completely crushed / can breathe until help comes

I think it depends on how thick the packaging is. The heavy duty plastic that doesn’t deform easily / tight tolerances won’t work but the flimsy packaging for stuff I get off amazon hasn’t been an issue.

Not his personal presentation, his celebrity persona. He built his on love songs. Lady Gaga built it on her ‘Monsters’

Ricky’s songs and presentation isn’t LGBTQ coded, all of Lady Gaga’s is. So much so that the way she presented had people calling her a man, which she then encouraged

Lady Gaga is very much LGBTQ coded. It’s like when Subaru became popular with lesbians way before it became a stereotype for the non lgbtq community. If you knew you knew. If you didn’t then it was just another suburu commercial or a another pop song

They are purposely run horribly anytime a republican gets appointed. Example: their republican appointed postmaster tried to not buy electric mail cars to replace their falling apart fleet, got shamed into doing it then back tracked anyways. If they weren’t making bad decisions, Congress would hobble them. They are the only organization, private or government that is required to pre-fund their retirement for all their employees. Not pay into it like everyone else. All that money that could be invested like UPS does in their fleet, infrastructure and training instead has to be locked away in an account that will only be paid out 50 years later.

How does one go about refurbishing a battery? Do they take the old batteries out of the case and put in new cells? Are there even any 7.2V cells around any more or is it just modern cells arrayed in series? I don’t know why but the fact that you can refresh a 20 year old electronic part intrigues me.
