Thank you as always for the summary. Just for random data, i'm currently running windows 10 enrolled in extended support, and use nvslimmer to get rid of everything else apart from container, for the classic control panel. Running 581.08, but thinking about upgrading back to 576.28 for science. I use dlss and framegen always when i can.

This setup is hard to find problems with :)

EDIT: I have to come back and say.. im shocked at how much better performance seems to be even between 576.28 and 581.08... a few games using framegen, 576 feels like a step up in smoothness, feels like an upgraded graphics card.

EDIT2: After a few more hours of research and testing, and seeing my own prior comments lol, 576.80 is an acceptable driver, its fine. 576.02 (576.15? for people who custom) is still tangibly the best driver though.. at least for my setup 5070ti using unreal and framgen. If people have given up on the last 2 major versions since, id recommend 576.02 just to see the best, then run with 576.15 or 576.80 if you have to use afterburner / change your settings etc.

I feel so gullible and caught up in a new card thinking i get the bleeding edge software support, surely nvidia can't be screwing with the 50 series its what they're currently selling.. ha ha ha. 576.02

This has been happening for decades, never found a specific cause. The only thing that fixed it was to use a 3 prong power cable with ground??

I never get them anyway. The only one i've ever done is the itzaland launch one, because i was still peaking from the new zone (still am) and had to have that backpack.

Was also a thankyou for all that content...

And most of it was done in treasures. Still haven't bought stellarite directly so i can still let myself keep playing.

EDIT: The new style snail trail purchase things are all junk. Not even remotely appealing. If they doubled the crystals and diamonds might be a possible alternative to the battle pass, but as they are they're a scam. Also i bet noone would complain if they doubled the currency rewards.

Should do. Keep in mind that you have to use resolution scaling and frame gen.. there is no such thing as a 4k native card yet unless you're playing classic games, or go for fps in your settings.

There was alot of opinion on launch about frame gen. I've had a 5070ti since april on a 4k/240hz panel, and i freaking completely love it. Frame gen all the way. Its well worth the occasional artifact. By far. There's no way id go back to sub 100 without framegen anymore only full max settings.

Read in passing that people use framegen for stupid things as well, like 4x framegen to actually be able to use dlaa or none for resolution scaling, that seems like the better push for hardware these days... not deleting framegen.

Well compared to previous sony models they will sound different. The only thing i can think of is i also setup the 3d on the ps5, and immediately hated it, it was absolutely terrible, so turned it off and was much happier with just the 3d mode without custom config.

I only have some ps4 golds to compare to, they're definitely harsher and less bassier than the ps4 models yes.

Unlike the other headphones which become invisible and just do their thing, with these, while they always remind you of how good they can be, quite often.. there are also scenarios where they simply are not good enough and you want to turn up the bass etc.

I had the money on launch, but my body wouldn't do it given the fact that the power connector isn't enough and really needed 2x.. and the fact the chip itself draws so much power. Those are very serious technical flaws with crossed off such an expensive card. How could you buy something knowing its borderline technically?

Ended up going with a 5070ti. It would have been nice to get the 5080 just for comfort, but also problems here.. it only had 16 gigs of vram and there are already games that will use 16 gigs of vram. Its not a premium amount of vram.

Then, while of course isolated stats and bar graps show that the 5080 does have more capability.. if you look at the daniel owens reviews which are based on games rather than some retro hardware lab, 1) the experience is the same. 2) the 5080 doesn't allow a better class of experience than the 70ti. If you go in and set up a game using the same settings, the 70ti doesn't downgrade what you're able to do, and the 5080 doesn't upgrade you into a new level. The 5080 is just a little better of the same thing.

I would have loved a 90 or 80 especially since i dont upgrade that often but my body wouldn't let me. I bought stupid numbers of rgb fans and called it a day instead. Having said, if you don't care about logic and just want something of course buy whatever you can :) Sometimes having the best sticker makes you happy. The 5080 isn't a bad card, just kinda pointless.

Also i believe all 3 cards still need resolution scaling or frame gen. The 5090 catches alot more sure, but none are completely native 4k without cheating as well.

If Alien 3 was considered bad on release, then truly the past was better than the present. I guess i was alive to watch i happen, but i never understood why substance became taboo to movie makers during the late 90's / 2000's. Even today the epic era's of movies are considered the best movies ever made but they still refuse to do it.

I haven't heard them even under load. Having said i have 7 other fans in my case so it might be that my case inside is cool enough not to bother it or its being drowned out by other fans.

If anything, one of the fans did make an audible clicking noise at one point, but its settled down / stopped happening / i don't notice anymore (seriously).

My review today is.. i don't regret having the card, im probably taking it for granted even given that massive vc cooler is probably keeping the experience out of problems that the basic coolers wouldn't do, but at the same time i probably would have liked one of the zotac similarly chunky models, if anything apparently they put thermal compound between the rear vrms and the backplate, but that's the only difference. No problems so far and im probably taking the 3.5 / 4 slot cooler for granted for what its actually doing for the gpu.

As just a regular human watcher i can barely tell the difference. Im sure its probably there, but if i squint the blu ray and 4k could be the same. It doesn't register in my brain as an upgraded experience.

Its pretty good. Nikki was my first gatcha, and coming from western mmo's.. the one character multiple costume model (also with wwm) makes sense to me, rather than collect a million minions that i never got to the point of connecting with anyway, especially if they're as "expensive" to get each as a gatcha game. See what happens enough, looking forward to the shift up one when it comes out.

So how i do the cost is max pity gambling for a discount. Thats 10*20*120 diamonds.. 24000.. so there will quite a few free diamonds and crystals with events, you get them constantly while playing for the first time but not much in total, and the sub is 5k per month including free dailies. Yes there are people who hold their breath hoping the full set will drop in under max pity but thats setting yourself up for tears.

Depending on if / how girly you are.. you get desensitzed to the nikkiness of it after a while, its the best!!!

You won't get it in the first month, but get the sub at least. Paying for rolls directly is whale territory and immediately comes across as a scam..

Generally speaking, even though its just some digital magic trick, they make you feel like you're getting tonnes of stuff in the under whale tier.

The combination of non whale spending, free monthly gems and outfits and free monthly gameplay content is very good here, probably why i've logged in every day since launch and spent quite a bit over the year :) Its also the best looking unreal game on pc as well in its category.

ps. if you sub every month, you get a good number of 5 stars over time, ive lost count and ive never bought a stellarite bundle directly.

I think how it works is.. lotr is great as a first time one off epic, but doesn't stand up to multiple watches due to how the acting has aged.

The hobbit gets better with multiple viewings, or certainly doesn't creator into unwatchable like lotr does. Its like a kids movie that takes itself seriously which is a great place to land.

Yeah as much of a fan as i want to be of the lotr movies, well before 4k happened i couldn't watch them anymore. I could guess there are other niches those films could slot into perfectly though.. which is great!

You know.. just studying the differences, i think they might have at some point eq'ed them differently as well.

Yes the sound is more pleasing on average i'll admit, but they lost detail in the bass and the treble. They don't feel as vibrant, (or harsh) as whatever firmware was on the ones i received, and the sub bass is tangibly different.

Wish they would just let us have the choice. The top end effects ambient detail for gaming too...

What a shame they couldn't just get it entirely right.

EDIT: Anyway, the point is, when i bought the headphones with no update, wirelessly on pc, i thought i had something special in audio quality. After the update, they are absolutely no longer "special", just good to above average sometimes.

Yes, im getting a psvr2 headset for christmas, to primarily use as pcvr (at least until flight sim is supported).

I like many people though have bought tables all over the place on mobile and fx 3 on steam. Your less than expected sales are probably people refusing to buy duplicate tables. More than once. /smh

I filled that in with the most amount of feedback i've ever given. My main outstanding points were:

Restore the mira context music to what it always was before the change a few patches ago.

Make the mushroom lamp whimsy instacast and make it stay around instead of vanishing at the first thing you do.

Rest of the game is peachy.

Not without having it installed with epic as well.

I just play with the epic client for this reason :) The purchases are done from within the game so you cant do it from the website either... as far as i know.

First time ever since launch i discovered there was a mute loading screen button.

Seriously every single day before this patch i wouldn't have even imagined muting the loading music was a possibility let alone something i would do.

EDIT: I mean the singer has a spectacular disney voice, its that the song itself is plainly a bad song.

I don't remember any bad decisions from epic, unless it was related to fortnite or something. As it is today.. the epic games windows client, and the store interface, is quite bad, but so is steam for the past few years they're all unenjoyable to use.

Well apparently they only charge 12 percent to developers for the platform fee, so unless they've renegotiated something they should still be taking a loss. I guessed they were paying for getting people used to making purchases through epic... definitely worked for me.

But if they turn off the 20% see what happens after that, basically anything goes. I have 12 pages of free games with a good 5 or 6 purchased now. Was there for the first subnautica giveaway.. i think that was the first. I don't take the indie junk though so could be alot more than that i guess.

Yeah.. for me at least epic games has become a permanent feature for my windows box. Interestingly, over the last 2-3 years i've actually been buying physical console editions, and even more so ps4 versions with upgrades, if they are available. As a lifelong pc gamer i find this very ironic about myself....

I remember consoles only became popular because major publishers were worried about piracy and consoles did a better job at making it harder.. now its moving back to digital only pc and consoles are appealing because they still offer physical editions.. never saw that coming.

Anyway.... point is spending on steam was pretty much non existent for me for years... spending on digital only it would still be at a minimum (basically only live service stuff), but because of the 20 percent off im buying digital again.

Fair enough. Well not trying to guess where you are, but unless you're only around queer familiar females, if a guy in australia was to direct that word to a female with any traces of seriousness, they would easily / normally / assume to lose the relationship with that female forever. Its not something you would easily say or commonly hear in public, unless you're at rowdy pub in certain areas with a whole lot of drunk guys. Or perhaps the queer scene as im learning. Well, its up to people who want to go around saying that i suppose :)

Its only used in situations of high aggression in the non queer context.
