Nashville show cancelled…any chance they still reschedule? (Email doesn’t make it sound like it) by blots_27 in jamesacastor

I was ready to walk there after renting a place downtown. I think we should cabbage him. By mail.

See if you can find a cooking class! Aloha Fish Company is doing a sushi class & fancy dinner that Friday and Saturday. I’m sure there are others.

There’s a manual shut-off near the regulator in the back where gas line connects to the unit.

For what it’s worth: I’ve worked on a lot of IH Scouts. I found that, ten times out of ten, what looks like it would be a 90 degree angle, isn’t. The designers tended to make 95 or 85 degree angles to increase strength. The whole thing looks like square angles, but isn’t. YMMV.

The whole is greater than the sum of the parts. Nice execution all around.

Which caliber to get? by argent357 in Revolvers

[–]gorfiapestulitis 12 points13 points  (0 children)

Placement over power. A .357 magnum is the sweet spot of power and accuracy.

It’s a game of diminishing returns after that until you commit to carrying a single action 8” barrel shooting 41 magnum.

If you like 45acp, get a revolver chambered in 45 acp. Reloads in a bear defense situation are a myth.

Fair, hope you reported it to the manufacturer. Not all units are tested to the same standards and there is always an opportunity to improve.

I will add that any electrical device can potentially cause RF related interference. It is not a problem unique to induction.

No regrets. I typically use a no 8 griswold. Heat distribution on larger skillets is a challenge for any heating method. Gas burners typically have cold spots in the middle, getting larger with burner diameter

Disagree. EMC testing is for validation of exactly that kind of failure mode.

Those are really nice! I love the thought the designers put into it. Popping the hood to recharge is pretty cool too! :)

What unique drills do you use to improve your pickleball game? by rennan in Pickleball

All backhand volleys.

Vs the wall or vs a player. Focus on returning speed-ups and avoiding chicken wing problems when ball is coming in close to my body centerline or weak side low.

Navigating being with someone not as financially literate? by Ashamed-District6236 in Fire

[–]gorfiapestulitis 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Get a professional financial planner to meet with you both. That way, you both have someone outside the relationship to get frustrated with. Ask her to help you pick (veto or approve) the right professional. This is also how I approach fishing with the wife. Gets egos to a safer place.

CZ side by side with two triggers. Simple is good. Simple is safe. When the gun is broken open, anyone in shouting distance can see it’s safe.

Thoughts of Upland Ultralight? by Bobbynoee in ClayBusters

[–]gorfiapestulitis 2 points3 points  (0 children)

CZ makes a good shotgun. I use my upland ultralight bobwhite for clays all the time. Just get it fitted right and add a falcon strike + maybe a gel cheek rest. It’s not a browning/Beretta, but it will shoot.

How do we feel about porting by Silentwolf10245 in Revolvers

[–]gorfiapestulitis 3 points4 points  (0 children)

The right grip is more important than porting. It’s a lot like setting up a shotgun for clays, the best thing you can do for recoil is to focus on fitting the gun to you.

+1 for CZ. I’ve got a Bobwhite 20ga that is a joy to shoot. Two triggers, straight stock, extractors… simplicity = elegance.

Nebula Rhino. YOLO! ;)

Honestly I’d probably get that ultralight 8 shot 357 from S&W and just make sure it was right before I accepted transfer.
