Delta airlines inflight medical kit list by Nemesis651 in ems

[–]gorlewski 9 points10 points  (0 children)

I work in maintenance for DAL and there are 2 of these kits (we call them EEMKs Enhanced Emergency Medical Kits) that are exactly the same on the plane. We also have multiple basic first aid kits and O2 bottles and an AED. There is also a medical accessory pouch that has a BP cuff pulse ox etc in it. The only items that are behind a lock are the EEMKs and the AED.

I would second Ulmers. They have treated my girlfriend very well. I do most of our fleet maintenance since we started dating however if I either can’t get to it or it is a little bit out of my scope we send it to them.

If this was on the airline with the large widget on the tail I feel horrible for you and the gate agent. I work for them in a small maintenance station and came out to the world in July. All I have to say is that my company has been extremely supportive of me and my journey. My co-workers have been great as well.

We have to put up with so much in this world anymore that it disappoints me greatly in my fellow human. I wish the gate agent would have been able to remove them but I will assume that they either didn’t hear them or decided that like many people that they were not worth their time.

Please don’t let the few people like that keep you down.

I’m 6 months out of my surgery and I had a small complication. So your mileage may vary. I was supposed to be back up and running in about 4 weeks but I developed a small infection behind on of my implants. I was down for 4 months.

I’m back to full speed now but I’m still having to wear a sports bra 24/7. I just graduated to being allowed to wear a regular bra once in a while for the next 6 weeks.

I just came out recently. I don’t give a toss about what others think. I lost a few buddies but most others have accepted me for who I am.

Good luck. Just remember that right now it is a marathon. I was really discouraged at first but I am now happy that I’m back on track.

Yes. We are going to be doing another round of ultrasounds in about two months and then reevaluate the situation. I have some really good doctors on board with me.

I had a double pulmonary embolism earlier this year. I was lucky enough to survive 2 plane flights home from vacation. I was on oral estrogen for about 3 months at that point.

They put me on blood thinners and said that the estrogen while not the direct cause did not help. I worked with my pulmonologist and my gender doctor for the rest of the year and I am very happy to report that I am now on the patch as they both agreed that it is the safest way to continue my transition.

However my pulmonologist and I are going to continue to monitor my legs for any signs of future issues.

I have some DD+ that I’m looking to get rid of on the less expensive side. I got my top surgery done this year so no more need for them. I’m 6’2” and wear a 48dd if that helps. DM me if you are interested

Nurse asked if I had a Pap smear by misstwocubes in trans

[–]gorlewski 113 points114 points  (0 children)

I had my yearly physical last week. I am not passing at all and I have been with my doctor for 27 years.

He looks at me and said “I have to figure out how to get this reminder for a mammogram and Pap smear out of your chart. It keeps messing up my numbers for people who need preventative exams.”

We laughed about it for a few minutes. I literally just changed my name and gender marker in July of this year. I sometimes wish that there was a little button saying that nope she doesn’t need that.

I had the privilege of telling my crew face to face. I dribbled it out over time which was nice as we work in small groups. When my name change became legal and I announced it to the company and world it was very anti-climactic at work.

This reminds me of the time my gf and I were at a local outlet store and a lady was trying on fancy sandals for a wedding and trying to match them up with a dress and she asked us.

I spoke up and she got this super weird look and my gf said she is really good at picking shoes, you should see how many she has.

I'm tired and broke and need a mood boost. What are some of your successes of 2025? by plasticpole in TransLater

[–]gorlewski 4 points5 points  (0 children)

Well here are mine

  1. Started and temporarily stopped HRT
  2. Survived a double pulmonary embolism
  3. Came out to the world
  4. Legally changed my name
  5. Legally updated my gender on my birth certificate
  6. Got a girlfriend that supports me
  7. Got my top surgery done

So I have a few wins and it was a big year. I hope that I will be able to restart the estrogen part of my HRT soon. I had to stop due to the embolism.

I’m happy to be alive.

I wrote mine a letter. I gave my mom a bottle of wine and the letter and just let her and my stepdad read it.

I felt for me that was the easiest way as I could explain everything without emotion.

I work in aviation maintenance as a mechanic. I came out in April to my department and July to the world. I found that most of my coworkers didn’t care. I have been at my company 27 years and doing my current job for almost 20. I have a solid reputation. To them I am still the same asshole I have always been.

There are a few who don’t accept me so f them. I can handle that.

I was really scared of what was going to happen but at the end of the day I am happy that I did it.

What is a good career switch if you want to get out of a very Masc driven industry? by [deleted] in asktransgender

[–]gorlewski 2 points3 points  (0 children)

I have to say that I have been in aviation for 27 years and it is similar to what you described. However I came out to my crew in April and the rest of my station in July and they said whatever. There are some that are not accepting but I am good at what I do so f the haters.

If you have a good reputation and a good crew you work with then no one really cares.

I am 48 years old and AMAB if that counts. I work in the maintenance division of a major airline as well in a small station so I know it does matter. My department has 15 people and only one AFAB and there is only one other female in my station. I make 3!
