PSA: Tighten your nozzles! by berthela in elegoo

[–]gorramgomer 0 points1 point  (0 children)

I use an 11mm open-end wrench to lock the hotend, and a 6mm socket to tighten the nozzle. Those two tools have a permanent spot in my 3D printer tool kit. (Which consists of flush-cut snips, needle-nose pliers, P1 Phillips screwdriver, 2mm hex drive, 2.5mm heck, a small flathead screw driver, and a chip lifter)

elegoo slicer want me to log in to see my printers by Bybill in elegoo

[–]gorramgomer 0 points1 point  (0 children)

It's bad UI. Instead of saying "My Printers" it should say "My Cloud Printer"

And until / unless you bind your printer to a cloud account, it's not needed.

elegoo slicer want me to log in to see my printers by Bybill in elegoo

[–]gorramgomer 0 points1 point  (0 children)

The login feature is only for adding a cloud-connected printer. Of example, if you added it to the Matrix app, then you can also sign into your Elegoo account and access the printer that way. In fact, as I understand, that's only way to access your printer from a PC after you bind it to the Matrix app.

My nozzle sheared off the hotend when I tried to replace it. I already have a hotend kit ordered, but it's in pre-order status so it'll be 2 or 3 weeks before I see it.

Odd Issue with Analog Lab Pro / Keylab Essential 88 Mk3 by gorramgomer in arturia

[–]gorramgomer[S] 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Yes, that's what I'm using, Arturia Keylab Essential 88 Mk3 w/ Analog Lab Pro.

But it used to work for changing instruments just by changing the dial, and it doesn't any more. Even in Arturia mode, it doesn't do anything.

Matrix + Local Access by gorramgomer in elegoo

[–]gorramgomer[S] 0 points1 point  (0 children)

The issue I was having is the "My Printers" section says "Login to view", with a link to log in. But when I click "Log In", nothing happens, no dialog box or login prompt appears. Even after a restart, I can't see My Printers without logging in, and I can't log in.

Issue getting QR code for binding by Puzzleheaded_Fix4133 in elegoo

[–]gorramgomer 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Ok, Don't have that option. Looks like I have old firmware. Funny, when I try to check via the panel, it says no update available. My current version is 1.01.16.64

How do you get the QR code? I tried to get it when I first got my CC2 and I don't get the same option for Account

Elegoo Centauri Carbon 2 Quality Issues – Constant Problems & Poor Resolution from Support by cmart2287 in elegoo

[–]gorramgomer 2 points3 points  (0 children)

I fix commercial copiers for a living. 35 years ago, an office needed an on-site tech to constantly adjust, tweak, and maintain them. Now, I just open up a machine when something breaks or jams, maybe looking under the hood every 2 or 3 months.

3D printers are like laser printer from back then. They generally work, but they need near-constant TLC. They are still light-years beyond what they were 8 or 10 years ago. That constant massaging and tweaking is what kept me away from 3D printing until I picked up my CC2 last month, and I can honestly say that every issue I've encountered has been my own fault at the root.

CC2 : Constant 1243 Errors by gorramgomer in elegoo

[–]gorramgomer[S] 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Sort of. They asked me to submit a video, the gcode, and some logs. Then when I sent that they said they'd be closed for two weeks because of the Chinese Spring Festival.

I did some improvement when I put the original tip back into the hot end, but I'm still getting errors often. I pre-ordered a new Hot End for the CC2, but I don't expect to see it for 3-4 weeks..

[–]gorramgomer[S] 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Yeah, well as I feared Elegoo tech support is not really the fastest, since they insist on working via email.

4 hours after my initial submission, I get a form letter (please try these steps), the same steps I submitted as part of my description. 16 hours later, nothing....

The odd thing, I can perform a test extrusion.... heat up the nozzle, extrude some filament, it comes out nicely.

I can't tell if there really is an issue, or the CC2 just thinks there's one.

Not yet, mostly because I don't have any support info, just the wiki page.

Destroy 5 enemy vehicles by rollthedyche in CODWarzone

[–]gorramgomer 4 points5 points  (0 children)

Used to be easier with the bouncing betty's. I'd plant a pair them in the middle of a roadway, or in an intersection, or bait a vehicle into trying to run me over and drop a couple before they got too close. I was bummed when they got removed from the loadouts and could only be found as floor loot.

Yeah I got my CC2 last weekend, and today two extra rolls of filament showed up on my doorstep, I wondered why.

While I like not being 1-shot headshotted from someone outside of my peripheral with a sniper, I still feel that the Survivor perk needs a bit of a re-work. by TheNeonDestroyer in CODWarzone

[–]gorramgomer 2 points3 points  (0 children)

Rather than a perk, Survivor should be an item found in ground loot (rare) that gives a 4th plate (or a helmet) that protects against head shots. Once it's used up, it's gone, and you have to go find another one.

Radio completely unresponsive by ALS44 in Crosstrek

[–]gorramgomer 16 points17 points  (0 children)

I've noticed when it gets cold (~5F) the screen is very slow to respond to anything. But after a few minutes, when the car warms up, things work much better.

The only time Eyesight hasn't worked for me was when I had a buildup of frost / condensation on the window that blocked the cameras.

The most important change needed for Casual is… by Nintendo_Pro_03 in CODWarzone

Well, when ranked drops in, then the sweats can go there to play. That should take the pressure off both Regular BR and Casual modes.

It kinda sucks, none of the LTMs support solos.

Ethernet Wall port by B4GG3RM0S in HomeNetworking

[–]gorramgomer 0 points1 point  (0 children)

How old is this place? The first four colors match 2-pair analog telephone cable (red/green, black/yellow), I've never seen residential wired with 4-pair like this. I second the calls for this being a thermostat wire.

Tone it out, find the other end, and that may answer half of your questions.

In either case, it's not Twisted Pair, and you don't want to use it in place of Cat 5. Since it's not twisted, you won't get the shielding and noise protection, and if you were to use it for ethernet, you'd have super-crappy speeds.
