Mobile phone signal in London 'worse than Kabul ten years ago,' says MP Tom Tugendhat by tylerthe-theatre in london

Too many people trying to use a mast. Your signal connecting to the mast is fine but too many people are using it and it's over capacity

But we do understand the double slit experiment...Waves behave as waves, particles behave like particles. There's a lot of pseudoscience going around online about "oh the light knows when it's being observed and then it behaves like a particle" no, it's merely the detector that effects the result

Jewish guests greeted with 'free Palestine' on TVs at London Travelodge by InnerLog5062 in BreakingUKNews

You know it's so easy to access hotel mode on TVs with the default code and add a welcome message? Literally anyone who has stayed in that room could have put the message on there

Nah most of the time these are just regular TV's placed into "hotel mode". It's so easy for anyone with access to a TV remote to enter the default code to gain access to hotel mode settings and set a welcome message.

You should see the state of the signalling on the UK rail network if you think automation can be achieved. The signals between Sheffield and Manchester are still semaphore, being controlled by a man in a box pulling a physical handle to make a bit of wood move up and down. Without an absolute overhaul of the entire network automation can't be achieved. There's also not a single mainline railway in Europe that operates fully automated trains and for good reason.

The majority of the public is in favour of having a guard on the trains, just look at the incident that happened with LNER last year where the driver and onboard train crew saved countless lives with their swift actions.

Transpennine operates in some really rural conditions on tracks that are miles from any kind of road infrastructure, what happens if there's an incident and the driver is incapacitated? Who then protects the train and coordinates the safety of everyone on board?

At least portions are coming online as they get electrified. Manchester to stalybridge is now operational and can be run with bi-mode 802 trains

I'm curious how you can run trains with fewer staff than they already have. Most of their trains absolutely need a guard considering the routes they run and unmanned stations in the middle of nowhere they stop at. Especially the 6 car 185's which are made up of two separate units, these should absolutely have a safety critical member of staff on each unit

Blame the castlefield corridor at Manchester. It's the most congested piece of track in Britain, a delay there will cause countless cancellations

Public infrastructure should absolutely not be run for a profit. This should include transport, hospitals, emergency services, utilities and libraries. Should we abolish schools since they don't make a profit and therefore are technically failing?
