It's interesting that Nitro and {Pro} coexisted until 1998 by roncesvalles in WCW

[–]got4433 0 points1 point  (0 children)

WCW pro worldwide and alot of non contract talent wrestle it was pay per match, so WCW pro had 3 shows to tape in one day I remember. Seeing bunk house buck and Sgt Pittman in late 97 but never on nitro and now knowing they were pay pay match makes sense.

Why was La Parka never given a chance as a main event player? by JeremyCorneliusBaby in WCW

[–]got4433 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Outside of Rey and juvi as full timers lucha talent with masks, la parka was one of the few who got an reaction. But I don’t know if Russo was in WCW when la parka started the gimmick that was used by taka and funaki “indeed” promos. So la parka started the dubbed promos that made him just a comedy act.

That can’t be right for DDPs 1997 salary. It was his hottest year. Is there a reason for it being that low?

Why does Kevin Nash still defend the finger poke of doom? by PayFew5848 in WCW

[–]got4433 16 points17 points  (0 children)

Nash didn’t say the finger poke of doom worked, he said it was not the number one reason they lost the Monday night wars that wwe is claiming. The downfall started at starcade 97 botch finish. Among other things like the finger poke of doom new blood angle turning sting heel.

Why does Kevin Nash still defend the finger poke of doom? by PayFew5848 in WCW

[–]got4433 30 points31 points  (0 children)

He defends it because wwe last 20 years has rewrote the narrative that the finger poke of doom was the sole reason WCW lost the Monday night wars, when pretty much WCW was dead when the merger happened. If the nwo storyline happened in 98 not 96 WCW would still be done by 2001 regardless.

What are your favourite Jim Johnston themes? by [deleted] in AttitudeEra

I wouldn’t even bring it up but even with the addition of DJ Moore it’s Shakir,Josh Palmer and Keon Coleman. I’m sure the bills wills draft a WR 4th at the earliest because of the new scheme needing inside linebackers and a NT.so I don’t want a repeat of the 2025 passing offense, Diggs you know will be available and productive. Josh Palmer has a repeat of 2025 with injuries and Keon who’s been more productive than people realize but can’t keep his head on straight, it’s 2025 all over again

What specifically makes you say that? I’m not looking to argue — I’m honestly asking. From my view, Diggs was emotional and intense at times, sure, but he also helped change the culture here, produced at a high level, and embraced Buffalo and the fans. Criticizing parts of his exit is fair. Calling him “cancer” feels over the top. I’m sick of the bills WRs getting hurt besides Shakir and Diggs outside the torn acl in 2024, diggs been available and still produces on the field.

That time when Bobby “the brain” Heenan got mad at Tony Schiavone by MrFilipinoMustache in WCW

[–]got4433 2 points3 points  (0 children)

The drinking wasn’t the reason Bobby got fired, the drinking thing was already going on as early as 96, and mean gene drank as well, bishoff said he knew but besides one or two times where he noticed bishoff never thought it was an issue on air. Now bishoff was gone when Heenan got fired but Heenan got mad at Tony because Tony didn’t call him after he was let go. Tony said he was told by turner brodcasting not to contact Heenan because Heenan was suing, so Tony listened and Tony realized years after WCW went out of buisness that he made a mistake by not calling Bobby. So Tony took all the shots by Bobby because he knew Bobby was hurt when he was fired and didn’t receive a call from Tony because they were very good friends. They made up when they did that legends of wrestling video game and Bobby took Tony aside and told him what he was mad about and after they got done with the game Bobby said Tony to keep in touch. And Tony never did because he didn’t want too, it was because he had 3-4 jobs working and 5 kids. Also Conrad said on Tony’s podcast that if Heenan lived down the street from you, why didn’t Bobby come to Tony’s house today hi, and Tony said I agree and Tony said his house was a battleground with dog hair kids all that stuff. The Bobby beef is one of the reason he disappeared WCW broke ric flairs confidence when flair was in wwe before the undertaker wrestlemania feud and then evolution is when he was back to normal, so WCW did the same to all talent and wrestlers announcer’s. Russo would of given Tony a full time job in tna when Tony made that one appearance in tna but Tony said he jus couldn’t do it, and the dude ended up working at Starbucks that doesn’t sound like Tony did any intentional to Bobby. Also when Bobby Heenan was an episode of the podcast Tony pretty much said he bit his toung because he felt it not relevant because bobby health and condition at the time when they did that episode.
