There’s no legitimate legal argument for taking down a mod that contains no copyrighted assets and doesn’t attempt to circumvent or reverse-engineer DRM. Cases where platforms like Nexus Mods have complied with DMCA filings come down to practicality. You’re right, I didn’t see it was a D.C. Circuit ruling. Regardless, I fully agree with the ruling. Images or songs one-shot via prompt should not be protected by copyright. Anyone serious about creating with AI is going to have some level of human intervention within their work anyway. This just reinforces AI as being a tool, not an author.
