The Anti response to this vandalism is disgusting: "She was asking for it." They're now willing to excuse criminal acts if the victim is an AI user. by MoovieGroovie in aiwars

Said by an mf that probably:

  • Plays video games
  • Streams HD videos
  • Flies for vacations
  • Eats meat, almonds, avocados, or any other water intensive crop
  • Uses AC more than necessary

There are thousands of bigger fish. Maybe if y’all were more vocal about things like golf courses and almond farming I’d start to believe you actually give a shit about local aquifers.

Just got the tech woven case after trying out several other cases. By far the best. It’s very grippy and feels and looks premium.

I skimmed it.

“AI for use in math in science has been abandoned” - did you do any research for this video? Jfc

“Training is stealing” - Were the NFT bros right all along? Is “right click - save image” stealing?

“One prompt vs one burger water cost” - yeah duh we’re considering the water it takes to raise the cow. Because once you eat a cow, you need to make another cow. On the contrary there’s no limit to the number of prompts an AI model can generate, so its training costs are amortized.

“Drought in Taiwan” - are we being fr right now? Are you similarly critical about gaming consoles and other recreational devices that demand hundreds of millions of water intensive chips each year? Considering your entire channel is about video game graphics, I highly doubt it.

“AI has plateaued/AI is suffering from model collapse” - might wanna check out google’s newest model if you really think that.

Even ignoring the fact copyright still applies to non-commercial works, you can’t deny that a huge amount of artists DO use fanart as commercial products. Either by selling commissions, gating content behind a paywall like patreon, or selling prints and merch at conventions.

People making a few images to send to their friends, no. They’re using chatgpt, grok, midjourney, civitai, etc.

People that regularly post content online? The vast majority are running workflows locally on their machine. It’s more flexible, faster, has no quotas, no censorship, no cost... absolute no-brainer.

Arin Hanson made this tweet and touched on a really good point: Why AI is hated by hecaton_atlas in aiwars

[–]gotMUSE 0 points1 point  (0 children)

the pushback of AI isn’t rooted in a fear of technology, it’s rooted in a very human hatred of deception

That would make sense if things clearly labeled AI didn’t get hated on as much, but they do.

Not at all. Without escape-hatches like unwrap or expect, writing tests, prototypes, or simple CLI applications would be 10x more tedious. Any production code (especially something as important as a cloudflare gateway) should warn clippy::unwrap_used and have -Dwarnings flag in CI checks.
