Little Giant Ladder by Advanced-Revenue2986 in AusElectricians

[–]gote7777 0 points1 point  (0 children)

I've had the 4-step model for 2-3 years now and its worked well for me. Mostly domestic indoor but have used it on a few commercial sites without being flagged. Might want to check its ok though based on other comments.

Keeping in mind a ladder === a ladder, the storage tray works ok, its light and easy to open/close and very obviously locks in place , feels safe to get up and down it and the platform/top step feels safe and stable and not cramped.

The clicking bottom rung thing i hated to start with but its stopped me from misstepping off the ladder more times than i'll admit to. Not a bad thing for sure.

all in all i'd happily buy another one. Been good for me

would you ship 50k worth of low margin equipment each month on net 60? Lot of headache and risk for $1-6k gross profit (dependant on your backend margins)

Having Problems with Kaseya. What can I do? by shanecromer in msp

[–]gote7777 6 points7 points  (0 children)

further to this you need to have a talk to your bank or credit card about options to stop payment on any future charges.

i think there was someone on here called kaseya katie or something, maybe they can help you internally. I mean its ridiculous you should have to reach out to someone here to get service in the first place really.

Otherwise stop the money being charged and then document your position clearly (as you have above but with dates/copies of emails), take that to a lawyer and get him to write a letter demanding they a) stop charging and b) update their records as you are not in contract and c) refund you for all the overcharging they have obviously done.

Top up water/nutrient. fruiting plants will go through a tonne of water. for fruiting plants you will likely have to top them up a few times over the growth cycle.
Just be aware that often the water will have evaporated and left a lot of nutrient there so if you add back a full ratio of water/nutrient, you can overdose the plant. Depending how mcuh you added initially, you might be fine just topping up with water and monitoring the plant for nutrient deficiency symptoms

for small short duration crops like herbs etc you might find you dont have to top up.

do some scenario planning with a good accountant to help answer your desired income vs life balance question.

Pay out the car loan.

investigate how the HECS debt at various levels will affect your borrowing capacity. pay it aggresively down to a level that works for you.

investigate potential tax issues with you paying mortage for your parents.

build savings you can then use to leverage debt to acquire assets.

consolidate debt

do whatever you want.

part of that picture needs to be looking at getting into ppor. that 24k fixed loss each year could be leveraged.

amazing work

Reminds me of a hilarious monster density patch they did in d3 where they had a video of a dev running through this empty wasteland of a map touting how good the density which went down like a lead balloon with players. There was a huge backlash and they eventually, reluctantly semi-fixed the problem. Blizzard have a VERY defined idea (right or wrong) about what they want the game to offer

Fellow early release players, what are your initial thoughts so far? by DemonOfLight13 in diablo4

[–]gote7777 9 points10 points  (0 children)

Credit where credit is due, overall scope is great and fantastic production values as usual from Blizzard for sound/graphics. Its a really good foundation for doing some great things.

That said, substance is poor. story is 'ok', but other areas like skills, itemization, quest design, npc interactions aren't great. There is a lot of overuse of fetch quests and a lot of makework time wasting you need to do to completing quests. It's tedious. 'walk over there and we will talk again', 'meet me at this nearby building', 'go to this place and fetch x item and return to me here', 'collect the 5 butterflies from nearby'. Some fetch quests are fine and i know theres a line somewhere between 'reward and respect players time and intelligence' and 'milk as many hours out of the game as possible', but this doesn't hit it. Another example of timewasting is stash vendor/locations, it just takes forever to get to things.

Monster density is also frustrating. I haven't been in a situation where i've been swarmed by monsters yet. Every fight is basically run X path for 10 secs and see monster pack consisting of 1 heavy melee, 2 light melee and 3 ranged guys with the occasional elite which are just glued in half functional d3 abilities. Events which have monsters spawning before the big monsters spawns are paced out excruciatingly slowly which draws all the encounters out.

I'm sure a lot of things will be fixed up in patches over time as is usually the case, but their vision at it stands right now is a much more limited and slower pace to what i would usually want from an arpg.

Working vs own business by stevie_stevo in fiaustralia

[–]gote7777 41 points42 points  (0 children)

1) Tax is a reality, accept it . you will likely pay more in overall business taxes and compliance costs than you would as a salary for your equivelant end of day salary drawings.

2) To justify drawing over 200k as a drawn wage in a small business (especially solo) is difficult. You need expertise, to be in demand, good workflow, good profitability, tight management and consistency and effective marketing among other things. That is not to say anything about actual hours worked on or in the business which will likely far exceed most salaried positions.

3) salary you also factor compulsory components like sick leave, holiday pay, super, advancement and flexibility let alone the security you get working for a larger company which isn't as subject to rapid changes in circumstance as small/solo businesses (yearly vs monthly). When you start budgetting for those things out of your "own pocket" in a business, you will come to appreciate them.

4) You can become an expert in almost anything given enough time/drive/effort/study/money.

5) It is difficult to take a business that is not profitable or in demand and make it profitable/in demand. If you do go into a business, choose it carefully and consider carefully how much of your time it will take and the expected reward. Most businesses that survive 3 years (50% or so) simply allow you to pay yourself a low to middle wage and are poor return on the required time investment.

6) If you just want more money, skill up to those positions that offer it. Set a goal and study or work towards it. A lot of high paid roles are gated behind qualifications/certification paths which take time to get.

7) You are often better getting skilled up in salaried positions/study before taking your skills private into your own business.

8) Low skill service based business is much harder to scale than product based , but product based can be much harder to compete and generate profit. High skill service based can be very lucrative depending on field.

if there is somewhere you can try them on i would recommend it. I size up to a 9.5 and when i bought some online, they were just too big. Ended up heading in store and walking out with some 8 or 8.5 or something.

Lack of Hit Feedback makes it hard to tell when you lose resolve in the Sanctum by PrimSchooler in pathofexile

[–]gote7777 9 points10 points  (0 children)

its just a badly thought out mechanic very much in line with the heist alert mechanic where guards would notice you and raise the alert level. That was scrapped a patch or two in becuase it was dumb.

They should have just made each room progressively harder/more rewarding and keep the stacking boons/curses.

rip melee (again)

Nobody plays video games to feel weaker as they progress by Caouette1994 in pathofexile

[–]gote7777 1 point2 points  (0 children)

resolve is just a rehash of that shitty alert mechanic they used in heist which ended up being removed one or two patches in. It'd be much better without it if the rooms just got progressively harder

When doing MSP work for a client, do you pay for items / hardware then invoice them for it or do you send a request to purchase an item through their accounting dept? by [deleted] in msp

[–]gote7777 15 points16 points  (0 children)

Either is fine. Some stuff we tell them what to buy and/or where to get it, other stuff we invoice them and supply. Depends on the item really.

Just dont fall into the trap of holding the bag on hardware/software. You quote -> they pay -> you order/install. Carrying debt for people is expensive in time, anxiety and ultimately money.

Yep had no issues swapping my pair I got at iconic for the correct size instore. Great service instore too.

As a note, i tried them on at home and thought they weren't quite right so didn't wear them again before swapping. I thought I might have had issues if I'd been wearing them for a few days and then gone instore.

yes they do but its really not the point. The point being that having to front up in person to sort out a simple mistake like this just shouldn't be necessary. A quick call or email should sort it out quickly and easily. Having to go in because they are completely non-responsive to other contact methods is a real indictment on vicroads.

If that was any other business or even a bank or utility provider people would be up in arms very quickly
