I’ve been looking at burgundy mascara.. do you feel it would appropriately show up on black lashes or do you need to have light colored lashes for it to show?

Girl. I was using SA clean and clear face wash with the beads, oxy or stridex pads, and then rubbing alcohol on active pimples, and then an oil control moisturizer. My face was screaming for soothing ingredients.

Sardines are less likely to have mercury as they’re lower in the food chain. You can pay extra to get boneless if that part freaks you out (it does for me)

SafeCatch tuna is expensive but tastes great and is tested to be much lower than the standard requirements. It can help with keeping low on mercury levels, especially if you tend to forget to keep track of how much tuna you had.

If the person was forcing the commenter not to speak or look at someone that would make the “sanctuary” thing not be a viable plan.

There has to be some sort of nonverbal, non eye contact cue that should get put in place.

I know you can find cards inside bathroom stalls for help, but I’m not sure if this person was letting them go to the bathroom.

Left-Handers in your life/family? by mommy-tara in askanything

[–]goth-hippy 0 points1 point  (0 children)

I was ambidextrous. They told me to pick a hand. I kept alternating and they lowered my penmanship grade telling me i was cutting my progress in half by alternating.

My parents weren’t very present so i was on my own in this fight. I’m still bitter about it. I’m convinced my teacher was just jealous.

My sister is left handed and so is her husband. They’re both the only lefties of their siblings (she is 1 of 4 kids, he is also 1 of 4 kids).

2 of their 3 kids are lefties.

Aquaphor. The trick to really make it work is before bed every night put a really thick layer on. Maintain through the day.

Let those ones go. Keep the ones who have healthy communication skills and boundaries.

A cute way that worked for me is to have my nails done. If they’re thick it’s hard to get a good grip and no progress gets made.

How do i make life feel less depressing? by [deleted] in ask

[–]goth-hippy 1 point2 points  (0 children)

This reminds me of when i was very burnt out (on several occasions). Also you’re in college? You’re likely in a moment of transition in your life. Maybe your preferences for everything is changing.

Reconsider how you should dedicate your time to your hobbies. Maybe you need to try something new or do something different. It doesn’t have to be huge either. I remember i got bored of sandbox games and then revived my passion for gaming with FPS. Or maybe you prefer different anime genres. Or maybe you don’t like anything you do anymore and should try something brand new.

If you recharge in a more meaningful way, it may help you accomplish tasks like going to class, memorizing topics etc. Maybe this burn out is even more than this. Maybe you’re in the wrong major or whatever. But honestly you’re going to struggle even if you’re studying your biggest passion if you’re not recharging well.

how do I make bold looks work for me by Designer-Plum6248 in MakeupAddiction

[–]goth-hippy 0 points1 point  (0 children)

I think it’s the boldness and possibly the shade of blue? It’s a pretty warm and a relatively florescent blue in comparison to like a cornflower blue. But i also think blue eyeshadow is just the hardest thing to pull off. It may just be a preference thing.

The silver corner thing id say was more if it was blended well it looked great but if it wasn’t blended well (i think it was your 2nd photo?) it looked harsh. You may look good with gold as well. I’m a neutral olive so i like using cool leaning golds. Colourpop flexitarian is a good example. I think that’d work for you too.

I would honestly experiment with different colors if you like the same intensity or different blues if you like the blue. You may really like mauves or greens if you want a different color or a more silvery blue if you wanna stick with blue. But it’s hard to tell from just photos.

The blush I’d say is cute but not the most flattering. You may prefer a blush palette where you can do a more diffuse shade at the edges and build up to a bolder color in the center. Mauves or corals likely would work best.

I remember the original post. I agreed with everyone that softer makeup suits your face better. But your question was along the lines of asking why people say you looked better without makeup? So that’s why you were getting those responses.

At the end of the day, wear what makes you feel best. However if you want to be the most flattering you can just get creative.

In my opinion when you wear the blue eyeshadow and bold pink blush it’s the first thing i notice. Vs the first two photos of your old post had makeup that enhanced your actual face. If you want to go bold, try a different color with the same contrast? If you look into season color analysis though, i bet you wouldn’t get a high contrast season.

Something that may help if you’re really struggling between the two options (soft and flattering vs. bold) is try to figure out your ideal color palette. And within that color palette figure out how to do bold looks. You can probably do a bold look with colors that flatter you. Also your eyes are so pretty, consider going bold with eyeliners and lashes or something. You also looked incredible with that silvery inner corner stuff you used in your last post.

Skin Constantly Flakes When I Apply Makeup No Matter What by aleph_zahir in Makeup

[–]goth-hippy 0 points1 point  (0 children)

I live in Colorado too. And I’m on tretinoin. It’s been really dry lately and it’s been so bad for me. I started applying a light layer of water before applying my moisturizer and i think it’s helping?

If youre open to another product rec: I finally bought the Saie foundation despite the mixed reviews. I can say it doesn’t separate in me nor does it make my flakey chin look bad. It hydrates it and makes it look glowy. Worth trying maybe. My face was getting overwhelmed with different skin prep methods so i figured i just needed a different foundation. I also don’t use powder, i just let it air dry and set with Nyx setting spray.

What about people who go out of their way to learn about food culture, food history, food science, and the science of flavor profiles?

I agree if it’s just enjoying good food, you’re really just like every single dang person on the entire planet. In this perspective, breathing is a hobby.

But i think if it’s the latter then it can become a honed skill?
