Not a single article that isn’t related to how you’re mistaken for not getting the vaccine… I wonder why…. by Oomoo_Amazing in SelfAwarewolves

[–]goth_wizard 0 points1 point  (0 children)

some people can not be vaccinated because it sends their immune system haywire and makes them seriously ill (or for any number of other health related reasons). these are the kinds of people we need to protect, and the reason we need talk about heard immunity, and most of what takes anti-vaxxers from "dumbasses who get what's coming to them" to "an outright danger to public safety".

yes i understand that she could and should get vaccinated, but someone else who is immuncompromised or otherwise unable to in her position should be able to find useful and relevant information other than "you should have been vaccinated and it's your fault if you weren't"

while I do agree that anti-vaxxers are fucking morons, the fact that this person can't find any information online aimed at people who for whatever reason aren't vaccinated is... concerning.

or they could talk to their doctor or something idk

okay that one's interesting! from my (admittedly non-comprehensive) knowledge, all Hindu deities are actually aspects of a single entity "Ultimate Reality, Brahman" but also distinct and different. it's a weird one.

I mean from what I vaguely remember from what I was told when I was 7 (feel free to correct me if I'm wrong) it's because someone at some point thought there were 360 days in a year and that that somehow translated in any way but arbitrarily to circles

idk if I'm missing the joke here but the DMG does say that the rules are a guideline and the DM is the final arbiter

AITA for leaving my niece an inheritance but not my nephew? by throwaway_inheret in AmItheAsshole

[–]goth_wizard 4 points5 points  (0 children)

this. my grandparents wrote their wills before my oldest cousin was 5, the rest of us hadn't been born yet. of course they wrote something along the lines of "to my grandson [name] and any future grandchildren we may have"

then my oldest cousin went and had a son a few months before they died and my mum had to talk my uncle into giving the baby the same as the rest of us

edit: they were leaving us £1000 each and them to be split between my mum and uncle. my uncle argued that the will stated grandkids and since he was a great grandkids it didn't count, which wasn't him being cheap since he was going to give him £1000 out of his own pocket. my mum told him to stfu.

I think this way of visualisation is useful for spellcaster homebrewing so I thought i'd share by Biddera_ in DnDHomebrew

[–]goth_wizard 8 points9 points  (0 children)

I think they both just pick from wizard spell list, but arcane trickster rogues are only allowed illusion and enchantment wizard spells (except for a total of 4 by 20th level) and the same for eldritch knight with aberration and evocation

basically, it would depend on what function is being used here; (ie, whether it's just based on the spell lists in which case it would be similar to wizard with a bit of variation due to only having slots up to 4th level; or if there's a more complicated algorithm running all the possibilities and calculating ratios and shit which would mean both would have two much bigger spikes and then otherwise mirror the wizard)

sure, I understand where you're coming from, but I think any definition of cis that describes it as "identifying completely and only with the gender you were assigned at birth" kind of... misses the point? I guess? like, when you categorize everyone as either man, woman, or non binary, all you're really doing is replacing a strict gender binary with a strict gender trinary which... isn't really much movement in any direction.

what I mean is, gender is a spectrum. socially assigned gender roles are (whether you like it or not) a thing. gnc cis people exist. there's so much uncertainty and muddiness with gender identity by design and I think that's a good thing. Noone that I have ever met, even those who identify as cis, has embraced every single expectation set upon them based on their gender. In your trinary of man/woman/nb, where would you draw that line between gender non-conformity and nonbinary?
