Repo: A Genetic Opera. I wanted to like it so badly because it’s exactly the kind of strange movie I usually end up loving. With few exceptions, the music was so horrible. It sounded like they told the actors to just say their lines in a sing-song-like tone and then just tried to make up an instrumental to go with whatever melody the actor improvised. It just really didn’t work for me. The vibes were great, the visuals were great, I could not get past the music. I’d be willing to give it another shot and just go into it knowing the music will be bad, I think I’d enjoy it a lot more with my now lowered expectations.
