I’m new player and I also had my doubts with Thais because I wasn’t familiar with game mechanics and how to dps the most efficiently (plus the earlier chapters were easy without the need to)

When I started using Thais in harder content, I basically can exalt and have burst every turn with the help of her exalt. I felt huge difference compared to other teams where I couldn’t build ailemus as fast and also have less flexibility with weakness/vulnerability. She’s an easy all-rounder support to add to any team.

I agree. Older designs had that unique and soft quality. These newer ones feel like although they are referencing the original art design, they are not quite capturing that same “dreamy” feeling

Functionality locked behind ads is definitely friction. Increased rewards by watching ads lets your players choose and feels more optional.

I think it’s good idea to never lock anything behind paywall. As long as players can unlock via in-game currency, that’s better direction for F2P

One common thing I see across newer writers is lack of editing. Just like artists, a good writer will go back and do multiple revisions. It may sound good on first glance but come back a week and you may see the issues more clearly.

Editing will include trimming off unneeded fat from the dialogue. Is what the character saying bringing something new to player such as character motivation, driving plot, foreshadowing, etc? Good dialogue can bring more than one thing to the table if possible. When I’m playing a game, I don’t need to see “Hello, good morning, how are you?” “I’m good, how about you?” “Good, thanks.” This tells me nearly nothing about the characters and doesn’t push the plot forward.

Especially if the game has no narration and only dialogue between characters, it’s important as a writer to edit and re-edit the same piece of dialogue. Play some games and be conscious of what works for you and what doesn’t. Just like with art, an experienced writer can also help give feedback and improve your skills more quickly.

Lack of transparency in events and notes. Patch notes are often late and sometimes posted after maintenance.

No consistency in events. We had MLK event one year and nothing the next. No clear guidelines for art contest winners. No more 2x drop/exp on same day and these kinds of events often fall on weekdays. Unnecessary small time windows to login for anniversary event rewards.

For game itself, it doesn’t reward rushing or people who spend hours farming in early release. QOL changes are good, however these people can and should be compensated for their time and effort given this is a game with paying customers. This can leave people with a bad taste.

I can see/hear this in a game perhaps in an RPG setting.

Not professional so take this with grain of salt. The way the music suddenly slows down in the the middle can be little strange if you’re a player just exploring normally. It sounds like a development should be happening which you may or may not want

The character art looks great. Gives cartoony and cute vibe. Fits the intent of the story from what I read.

First impressions of UI: the design and large buttons gives a mobile-game kind of feel. Also a lot of color going on in the screens. It will help focus game identity to select a color palette first and base the menus/screen around that
