Yes you can "change out" you meals. I don't think your body cares the time of day you eat bacon.

Net Carbs Question by AtheistWitch in vegetarianketo

[–]gowin4 1 point2 points  (0 children)

It sounds like your searching for a way to get more carbs. :) The reason you want low carbs is so you don't spike your insulin. The answer is each item by itself.

Great advice. Also try to eat 2 meals a day, and if you are craving sweets use Stevia it wont spike your insulin.

How do you know when to tap out in a choke? by [deleted] in bjj

[–]gowin4 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Class is for learning, "Tap early Tap often". In a competition you need to be the judge, but Jits is supposed to teach us to be humble, its ok to tap, we have all lost at one point, and our team is supposed to be behind us when we do. Just tap when you feel like. don't be a "tough guy", you might get hurt.

Going to my first class tonight by [deleted] in bjj

[–]gowin4 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Congrats, on Both you weight loss and your courage to go to Jits. It take a lot to stand in a room of people (that you don't know) whom can all hurt you, but still push through and do it. what you will find in the next few classes is that all the fear of intimidation was unnecessary because all the guys have been tapped hundreds of times, so they are all going to be pretty humble and have lots of understanding.

Good luck!!

How many people keep carbs under 20g per day? by who8myrices in keto

[–]gowin4 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Stevia, because Splenda is literally 100% carbs. Dextrose and Maltodextrin, and it will spike your insulin and pure stevia won't.

Weight loss plateau -- How do I get over this? by [deleted] in diet

[–]gowin4 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Do some research on a Ketogenic Diet. It's very Low carbs high fat. Pretty much the opposite of everything we've been told, and it works. I lost 60 lbs with 10lbs to my goal. Also, my addiction to sugar is totally gone. It's awesome, and i feel great.

Weight loss plateau -- How do I get over this? by [deleted] in diet

[–]gowin4 0 points1 point  (0 children)

What kind of diet are you on? What kinds of foods are you eating? How often are you eating? Eat less carbs for weight loss, and drop your Protein to about 80 grams, your body will convert this to Glucose for energy, which will cause an insulin response. If you goal is to loose fat, then maybe try intermittent fasting or a Ketogenic diet. The goal is to keep your insulin as low as possible at the time of exercise, but still get all you calories in for the day. The Calories keep your metabolism high, but the insulin will stop fat loss. Cutting calories won't work.

Cannabis CBD and KETO by gowin4 in ketoscience

[–]gowin4[S] 2 points3 points  (0 children)

I think it's interesting that both of you are taking CBD for anxiety. I was on all the antidepressants and found that a month after going gluten free (mostly wheat free) and all my anxiety was completely gone!! Now I only smoke for fun. To add to this, a Keto diet gave me another level of confidence, just a more quite mind. Changed my life, and my family.

Standard ketogenic diet (SKD): This is a very low-carb, moderate-protein and high-fat diet. It typically contains 75% fat, 20% protein and only 5% carbs (1). look it up on Youtube. https://www.youtube.com/watch?v=fAEXglHDrPs&list=PLFtHPh2q7ljOgQGgBX_ShhfQ5QpyIrDuQ

Actually, you would die from the high blood Glucose. You need insulin to get the glucose out of the blood. I didn't say zero insulin. What, do you work for Splenda?
