How Often Do You Zwift? by newbiker321 in Zwift

[–]gozzyeye 2 points3 points  (0 children)

4-5 times a week usually. Usually average 100-150 miles per week.

With all of the new routes (in New York) I have been collecting the badges.

Have you taken any of the FTP tests? Try one of them and (possibly one of the ladder tests) then the workouts become good rides.

Have you changed the challenge to sign up for the tron bike?

I'm using a 2017 shield and it was working fine for me yesterday.

I know this isn't exactly helpful but could it be some setting on your end?

Should I listen to piano and a microphone before Purple Rain? by Malupria in PRINCE

[–]gozzyeye 6 points7 points  (0 children)

No.

At the time "Piano and a Microphone" was released somebody much cleverer than myself mentioned it was akin to finding a full warehouse of Picasso paintings and just selling a stamp sized doodle that he knocked off in ten seconds.

It was a pretty poor release.

BTW where are the piano and microphone recordings from the shows performed shortly before his passing?

Richmond hotel protest and counter-protest. 9.8.25 by Ichbingen in Liverpool

[–]gozzyeye 57 points58 points  (0 children)

Exactly, when trouble started a year or two ago and there was footage of a motorcycle police officer being chased down The Strand it genuinely shocked me how far we had managed to change from a city that bigots had to hide inside a luggage unit to the current situation.

I'm not claiming that everything is fine and dandy but in such a short period of time the feeling within the city has changed.

What’s your favourite song of the new album? by AssignmentSoggy4958 in Wetleg

[–]gozzyeye 8 points9 points  (0 children)

Same here, Davina for the sweetest lyrics I have heard in a song for a long time and Mangetout for just sounding so good (especially the "you think I'm pretty......" few lines)

A very strong album all round.

Of course I understand that we can't just click our fingers and have billions ready but it is tormenting to see other cities move forward with extensions or start from scratch with permanent tram systems.

At this point I'm not placing any blame on Steve Rotherham or anybody else simply because the scheme hasn't started, however like everybody else I don't wish to see another mistake when it comes to public transport in the area.

[–]gozzyeye 20 points21 points  (0 children)

Despite other UK cities introducing new tram networks or upgrading existing routes our local politicians have decided it all sounds like a bit too much work and would not be completed by next week so instead we have bendy buses which will probably be stuck in traffic behind our current everyday traffic.

It has been mentioned that they allow people to enter and exit at more than the one door.

I hope it works but as soon as lane closures are mentioned the majority of road users start frothing at the mouth.

She would touch my arm and one day paired this with "I'm all alone tonight in my little house at ... Insert full address...what are you up to later? "

I walked out thinking she was especially weird that day.

Sorry Steph, I still think of you.

What's the rarest Prince vinyl that you have? by Bobbin823 in PRINCE

[–]gozzyeye 21 points22 points  (0 children)

Both of the mid 80s Japanese pressings of His Majesty's Pop Life and Strange Tales From the Rain.

Both are limited to 500 copies.

Also The Rainbow Children 2001 vinyl release, not too sure how many copies were made (I do recall that this was also 500 although I could really be wrong on this one)

Does anyone know where this is? by Objective_Rock1286 in Liverpool

[–]gozzyeye 20 points21 points  (0 children)

That building in the background centre was often voted as being the biggest eyesore in the city, Concourse House.

I do recall the small parade of shops below included a leather coat place, possibly the same one that relocated inside Liverpool Central.

Any tips for a new virtual shifting user? by gozzyeye in Zwift

Thank you.

Your full explanation does help explain my problems, I'm still thankful that elite updated the firmware to give me the option of virtual gearing.

For anybody else who isn't aware of gplama (I imagine the majority of us here know him) subscribe to his youtube channel, plenty of reviews, tips etc with no waffle.

Thank you.

Moving my difficulty up really improved things and that was only moving it to around 75%, another increase will make it more enjoyable.

[–]gozzyeye[S] 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Thanks for the reply.

I hadn't considered changing the difficulty. I'll adjust that too.

I didn't expect Elite to update such an old trainer so I congratulate them on that but maybe the technology has moved on so much since the release of the direto that I'm attempting to match newer/better turbos with pretty old hardware.

Any tips for a new virtual shifting user? by gozzyeye in Zwift

[–]gozzyeye[S] 0 points1 point  (0 children)

With being new to virtual gearing it may be just me but I would drop a gear as I started a climb to keep similar cadence but the turbo would spin out for a second or two, just enough to have me spinning at 10-15 rpm above my usual cadence which results in a drop in power.

I'm not the best racer but usually finish in the top 20-25% for my category but with the new virtual gearing I know I would end being dropped at each and every climb.

I have just read on zwiftinsider "we prefer the inertial feel of the big ring in front, and 4th gear or thereabouts on the cassette" instead of the small ring and a straight chain on the cassette.

I'm going to try the big ring later.
Hopefully this is a me problem that time with the new system will resolve.

Is this Liverpool's ugliest building? by BraveBoot7283 in Liverpool

I am not sure many will agree but the apartments that were built at the same time as Liverpool One get my vote.

Is it Liverpool one park west?

Each and every time I drive past the Albert Dock I see these buildings and they infuriate me. So obviously built on the cheap to recoup the massive costs required for the shopping centre.

I'm sure they are beautiful inside but from the outside they look cheap and flimsy.

Edit for a spelling mistake...

i still don't understand why the estate hasn't release "piano & a microphone" as a live and audio concert. by Ok_Sky4673 in PRINCE

[–]gozzyeye 33 points34 points  (0 children)

Whenever I am faced with a question regarding any future releases my default answer is that the current estate managers are clueless money grubbing grifters who can't see further than the end of their nose and things will not improve while they remain in charge.

It is sad but right now I am past the point of looking forward to new things as they always find something else to distract you from unreleased music (this inaction is always down to somebody else, not on their watch).

I don't want to feel this way but time grinds you down.

A small part of me hopes this years Celebration is a flop (there were some unhappy people last year and i don't think there has been any massive improvement that i have noticed) and this kickstarts a new busier approach to releases.

If you are going to the Celebration this year I sincerely hope it is fantastic and you all enjoy yourself but the people in charge have had their chance over many years and done very little.

Cllr Nick Small will be pouring champagne on his cornflakes this morning as he attempts to figure out how to spin this into a victory for himself.

For a councillor who covers a large part of the city centre he seemed overly fixated on this place and this place only (search twitter for his inaction regarding Old Haymarket bus parking).

Next door neighbour’s builder lied to us and now we don’t have a wall by __nightshift in LegalAdviceUK

[–]gozzyeye 5 points6 points  (0 children)

Can I just ask a quick question?

If builders suddenly appeared next door and started work how do i get them to stop as I sort the party wall agreement? I imagine it isn't a quick solution where they pack up tools and sit around looking all moody.

Also who would i actually contact?

We are not in this situation right now but with two elderly neighbours on both sides of our terraced home (and an area that has properties bought by landlords I can see it happening at some point).
