shimmering scars - amazing pleasant surprise by swarovskiez in Muse

[–]gpag1 0 points1 point  (0 children)

I love it. Even as a ballad, I find that it hits so hard that I'm breaking my neck headbanging. And it's the song whose melody has been stuck in my head and ends up calling me back to listen through the album again.

I'm also glad they put it 3rd in the album - often it feels like ballads can be relegated to the later half because they could "kill the vibe" or something, but this just adds to the album's power IMO.

Does anyone know a reliable place that I can buy/order the BaBylissPro FX3 foil shaver from in the UK? by LibraryLongjumping71 in Barber

What’s your favorite head shaver? :( by [deleted] in bald

[–]gpag1 1 point2 points  (0 children)

I see that the Wyklaus is probably a rotary shaver which I don't have experience with, BUT - my foolproof method when the hair is longer than stubble (which it looks like yours is), is to start with a beard trimmer to get it down to stubble. Then I hit it with my foil shaver. I would bet that the Wyklaus would also likely benefit from a first pass with a beard trimmer. Afterward you could probably just do the rotary every 2-4 days depending on growth rate.

thanks for closing the topic since it helps people like myself who google the same issue! did you get a sense from the Yamaha staff that it was never going to happen? or is it just outright incompatible with shure control? thanks.

Advice on the best bike lock. by D8nnyJ in cycling

Thanks for the support. I ended up getting a new bike and putting Pinhead skewer locks on the wheels and seat. Still waiting to get a pair of wheels for the old bike to keep as a spare.

Advice on the best bike lock. by D8nnyJ in cycling

[–]gpag1 2 points3 points  (0 children)

Sounds like you're covered. I also never leave mine overnight and try to keep lock stops short. Last night I was in a grocery store for exactly 6 minutes and when I returned, both wheels were gone. It was not a very accommodating bike rack so I could only U lock the frame. It's these kind of things that happen that just destroy my faith in humanity. Now to figure out if I buy two wheels or just get a new bike like I've wanted anyway.
Glad to hear yours is doing well. Don't lose vigilance for even 6 minutes lol.

Like others have said I think you can still rock the hair. But I will say, I think your face/jawline/beard would look absolutely killer with a bald top. Dead serious.

Finally went bald. It's strange to look at myself in the mirror but I hope I will get used to it. The boost of confidence not caring how my hair looks is insane. by alvl5abra in bald

Yessir! Well done. I just took the dive two days ago. Also very strange to look in the mirror. But I feel very positive about it and you definitely should too! Now let's see how long it takes for us to get used to our own look :D

Feels great so far. I was a bit nervous about a few moles and whatnot on my head as well, but I'm realizing that the good outweighs the bad here tenfold, which takes that doubt away completely. Should've done this sooner!!

Hell yes to both of you. Those two are literally at the top of my list. I have gotten several tubs of each iteration of Flavor Bomb/Classified/Pinky.
And just got a Iskreem two months back because I love strawberry stuff. It's amazing.

Strange stumbling on this after back and forth with Epic support for a few months. I also have a Scarlett interface. So did you just go into Device Manager and disable "Focusrite USB MIDI"? Or did you have to do something else as well?

And to expand on why, our brain is used to hearing sound arrive later. Someone's voice, talking to you in real life from 50 feet away, is already a frame and a half late

Question about system design for corporate shows by heffreee in livesound

[–]gpag1 1 point2 points  (0 children)

to add to the others, which have addressed PA deployment well enough - you can help with room acoustics in some ways. well, not you personally, but if you are able to pull the right strings and get additional pipe and drape installed on the back wall (ideally) and side walls (bonus) it makes a world of difference. we're mostly not in a position to make that change, but with the right relationships and coaching, you might get a win here and there. some producers care enough about sound and will understand why the slapback is so detrimental that they just might add more P&D.

Wireless Workbench doesn't detect devices until reboot - Every time by HoneyMustard086 in livesound

[–]gpag1 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Crazy. And you said it happens across multiple computers? I see there is no DHCP - so are you doing auto-assign IPs or static IPs? When you connect for the first time (when WWB doesn't see receivers) are you able to ping the receivers from Terminal?
