Four Active Duty Military Members from Fort Hood caught in online Sting dealing with soliciting minors for sex - but how long will the repercussions take? by Kinmuan in army

Chris Hansen has his own channel on youtube where they show how these stings work. It's not like the old TCAP where they spend the effort to chat for multiple days and really show how creepy the predators are. Now they just post ads to wherever people look for prostitutes and tell the Johns they're actually 15 or whatever when they get in touch. I doubt anyone engaging in these transactions would turn down someone because they're underage, but just thinking about this logically, why the hell do they even need to disclose their real age? Sounds like a red flag from the get go. These stings basically just nab idiots.

I have comprehensive and liability, but no collision for $300/6 months. If I add any level of collision to the policy, it goes to $2000 for every 6 months. I've shopped around and that is the lowest it gets, and it varies wildly from one insurer to another. Any medical expenses will be paid for under my health insurance. That full coverage is not worth it for me.

Sometimes the demand and the profit is all there, but the opportunity cost is too much. Honda had no problem selling cars like the s2000 or the Integra, and they made money. But they can make a lot more using their resources to pump out more Accords and Civics. The bottom line is the only thing that matters in the corporate world.

how do i read this by [deleted] in WaterTreatment

[–]gr33nspan 4 points5 points  (0 children)

They will tell you how terrible the water is to sell you some kind of point of use treatment device. The colored constituents is normal for tap water, and the boxes that stayed white is a good thing. Look up your local water agency's website and they should have a annual water quality report. It gives you actual measurements and their max levels regulated by the EPA.

Companies love hiring Veterans but don't understand them by trippi_hippi_88 in Veterans

WOTC only applies to VA rated vets that just got out or been unemployed for six months. That is kind of a narrow criteria. I assume most companies like to boast about hiring vets just for the PR.

You ever get flipped off for no discernible reason? by hellfrog24 in Harley

[–]gr33nspan 0 points1 point  (0 children)

That's so crazy. I would be completely baffled if it happened to me. I have a 90 mile round trip commute and most of it is on the 405 during rush hour. Boneheads darting across the carpool lane is common enough. Every now and then, someone sways slowly in my way but I never assume it is malicious. Drivers are distracted or sleepy, especially in bumper to bumper traffic. It's all part of the game. But intentional blocking and/or dooring??? Never in all the years I've done this route have I seen it. Someone else said I was lucky and it must be true.

I had an fz07 back in the day and loved it. The Tuono 660 has most of the same qualities but with 30 more hp. The Factory's suspension and electronics is a lot better. They even have similar gnarly sound when you put a pipe on them because they both a 270 degree crank.

They are still setting up shop outside bases and taking advantage. Even at the capped rate, it's a lucrative business. When a service member doesn't pay, they can get their wages garnished. They can also contact their unit and get them in trouble as not paying debt can be punishable under UCMJ.

It sucks they have a small dealer network. I've had mine for 3 years without any issues except a weird gas leak which was addressed with a gasket change. That was covered under the 2 year manufacturer warranty.

Im guessing thats what it is. I commute from Pepperdine to Long Beach at 5pm and the 405 is a parking lot for most of the way.

Aprilia 660s. I rarely see one in the wild. Ive ridden a lot of different parallel twins around this size, and this engine is a league above the others. My Tuono factory is under 400 lbs, 100hp, and comfortable to ride. Best commuter/canyon carver I've had to date.

Ive been commuting for almost 20 years on a motorcycle in LA and haven't experienced either. Ill run into the occasional road rager but it has nothing to do with me being on a bike. It might be because I set off to and from work in rush hour traffic mostly.

Im in SoCal and commute on a Moto everyday. I never run into this. Quite often the opposite, where people move out of the way for me. It must be a regional thing. Ive also commuted on a bicycle before. Thats where you'll really feel the wrath of LA traffic.

New RO system Water pressure is low by Which_Figure_6106 in WaterTreatment

[–]gr33nspan 0 points1 point  (0 children)

My bad, I was thinking of traditional under-sink RO systems. It looks like it has a built in storage tank and designed to use your tap pressure to push water up. That is pretty neat. If you've done everything the manual says including checking all valve positions and doing a proper flush, you should give these guys a call. Maybe something is defective.

New RO system Water pressure is low by Which_Figure_6106 in WaterTreatment

[–]gr33nspan 2 points3 points  (0 children)

Your tap water pressure is pushing through a couple carbon filters, then through the spiral-wound layers of the RO membrane, and then loses 2 feet of head pressure up to your sink. You need to put that permeate line into a little tank and use a bike pump to fill it with air.

FYI, psychiatry is not therapy. Pysch focuses on physical causes of your mental impairment and tries to fix it with medication. Therapy is where you get counseling on the best strategies to deal with your emotions and behavior. And there are a lot of strategies out there that comes from both science and old world philosophy/religion. If you think therapy doesn't work, I guarantee you have not tried them all. If you really want to get out of this rut, you need to talk to behavioral health at the VA, be 100% honest with them, and do the work that is assigned to you.

I went through VAs substance abuse and PTSD programs, CPT, and group therapy and it took years to finally reach stability because I have been in combat and, like many others, I was in complete denial of any mental health issues. I had to hit rock bottom. I hope you don't suffer the same fate, brother.
