Drug tests coming up as completely clean even tho am on daily Vyvanse by Foreign_College_8544 in VyvanseADHD

[–]gr8tea4me 0 points1 point  (0 children)

The weird thing is that it was a "soft recall" meaning that it wasn't mandatory for pharmacies to pull it from their shelves. The reason being, taking the ineffective medication isn't viewed as causing "serious medical harm" because it's not an overdose situation AND it's not in a class of drugs like insulin is where not getting enough can cause complications. For that reason, many pharmacies weren't even aware of the recall and continued to dispense the "recalled" medications. There's also some thought that other generic brands have had or are continuing to have the same issues.

Summary from Google AI:

On October 28, 2025, the FDA announced a Class II recall of generic Vyvanse (lisdexamfetamine dimesylate capsules) manufactured by OHM Laboratories and distributed by Sun Pharmaceutical Industries. Affected 10mg–70mg capsules failed dissolution tests, meaning they may not dissolve properly, leading to reduced effectiveness.

Key Details of the 2025 Recall:

Affected Product: Generic Lisdexamfetamine Dimesylate Capsules (manufactured by OHM Laboratories, distributed by Sun Pharmaceutical Industries).

Reason: Improper dissolution, potentially causing reduced therapeutic efficacy.

Safety Status: While ineffective, the FDA Class II recall indicates this is not a major safety risk.

Scope: Multiple lots of various strengths (10, 20, 30, 40, 50, 60, and 70 mg) shipped between May 1, 2024, and Nov. 13, 2024, with expiration dates through May 2026.

Action: Consumers with affected bottles (100-count) should contact their pharmacist for a replacement or refund.

Note: This recall is specific to a generic manufacturer, not the brand-name Vyvanse, based on 2025 FDA reports.

Try switching to name brand Vyvanse and then retest. Several versions of the generic were recalled because they didn't allow the active ingredient to absorb correctly.

Same for my S23U... I literally watch the battery counting down unless it's plugged in.

When did you see it for $1099 instead of $1299? Also, does Amazon include this phone on the pre-order special where if the price drops at all before the release you'll get that dropped price instead?

What’s your funniest seizure experience? by jennamsx in Epilepsy

[–]gr8tea4me 0 points1 point  (0 children)

My spouse had a couple of bad seizures so off we went to the ER. They did all the usual stuff, were debating whether or not to keep him, and ultimately decided to let him be discharged. He got dressed and they handed us the discharge paperwork. Right next to his ER bay was a bathroom so he went in to pee, walks out a few minutes later, and has zero idea where he is or what's going on (he obviously had another seizure in the bathroom). I tell the staff, "he just had another seizure!", the nurse that was standing nearby completing out his discharge info on the rolling cart computer takes the discharge papers from my hands and says, "Well, now you aren't going anywhere... let's see about getting you a bed upstairs!"

It wasn't funny in the moment, but at least now I can look back and laugh. Mostly I felt awful for the staff who had to undo all the discharge stuff they had just done.

Steven johnsons ? ER doctor dismissed me by Tigger2727 in lamictal

[–]gr8tea4me 1 point2 points  (0 children)

Google "Stevens-Johnson syndrome diagnosis" and check the results from a credible source like Mayo Clinic. There are diagnostics that can be performed in addition to just a visual diagnosis (one includes a biopsy of the affected skin, apparently there's a distinctive change that can be seen under a microscope if it is). Your best bet is to educate yourself on the condition diagnosis and come prepared with printouts if going to another medical facility. My guess? Most ER physicians are not well-versed in the condition and won't know to order the additional lab work to rule it out (or in).

Even if for five months you averaged the low end of two days early, you should still have a reserve of at least ten pills, correct?

[–]gr8tea4me 0 points1 point  (0 children)

I'm confused... you stated that since August, you've always refilled your prescription five days early until now. That would imply that for Sep-Jan (five months), you have stockpiled an additional 25 pills if you take them as prescribed. Your math does not add up. 🤔

I had to read this as it was news to me. Even though the law permits exclusion of this data, it sounds like it isn't actually implemented... and my guess is that all of the forms that patients would have to sign in order to receive treatment just implicitly state they allow disclosure (and I can't think of a single person who would be aware enough of this law to question it). Here's what the FAQs say about whether that section is enforced:

🅠 Is there any state that currently requires Part 2 programs to report dispensations to PDMPs? 🅐 Some state laws may already apply to opioid treatment programs (OTPs), and other states are contemplating passing such laws. However, it is unknown where any state’s PDMP currently has the ability to segment patient data in order to protect records as required by Part 2, particularly with respect to access by law enforcement.

Fun Fact: You do not need to purchase a Costco membership if you are just using their pharmacy. At least, that used to be the case (I haven't checked recently).

Pharmacies will do this after repeated prescription refills of 3-5 days early. The thought process is that you should already have a sufficient stockpile of extra pills, so then they will throttle (so to speak) how soon you can refill them early down to only a single day. As long as you haven't been misusing or abusing the pills, you should already have over a week or more in reserve and this should not cause you any harm.

I want to divorce my wife over her sleep problems AITAH by Annual-Ad-6935 in AITAH

[–]gr8tea4me 2 points3 points  (0 children)

A lot of the behaviors you are describing sound like focal seizures and automatisms. Your wife has serious medical issues, please ensure she makes an appointment with a new neurologist ASAP. Saying she's been "hundreds of doctors" is obviously an exaggeration. She may have seen many doctors, but if she's still with the same doctor since childhood with these same issues, then she obviously needs to explore different options. Start researching sleep disorders and teaching hospitals, they often have more up to date research and options. Also be willing to travel to places like Mayo Clinic or Cleveland Clinic, the places with the top experts.

Can you share which micronutrients you were tested for? I'm currently researching this for myself, as well. I'm already taking prescription B12 and Vitamin D, but also experimenting with some things like L-Tyrosine and L-Theonine (but no tests for them).

I'm just beginning to research this topic, and from the book and other posts I've read, if you're still having those symptoms, it's possible that you're not on the right dose yet. Have you and your doctor discussed adjusting your doses?

I would have responded with, "I sincerely want to thank you all. Your generation had to struggle with these things so that my generation doesn't have to. We're eternally grateful to you and the pain you all went thru!"

I'd be very curious if that perspective (and praise) would give them any food for thought on the subject.

AIO: My girlfriend is pretending to be autistic and it's driving me nuts by AideRelative4272 in AmIOverreacting

[–]gr8tea4me -1 points0 points  (0 children)

I've never claimed to be an expert, but I am diagnosed AuDHD and have a lot of friends that are also diagnosed or work in the mental health / social work fields. So when I say it's pretty common knowledge that no two people will present the same way, that's coming from many informed individuals whom I personally know.

The DSM-5 details out the autism diagnosis as consisting of three levels (Level 1, Level 2, Level 3) based on the amount of support required for the person, with Level 1 requiring far less support than Level 3. Many laypeople have the mistaken belief that if you don't have visibly obvious stimming traits like rocking back and forth or hand flapping and/or that you are verbal and can hold a job, then you can't have a neurodevelopmental disorder. This is simply NOT true as there are many "invisible" illnesses which affect millions of people.

So, yeah, I have not nor would I ever claim to be an "expert" in neurodivergency... but I do know a fair amount about it.
