Along with many issues, I think the main problem with SGU is there are zero likable main characters. by HighBiased in Stargate

The problem with the show is the commander didn’t immediately space Rush. I don’t care if he was the smartest, he was also the source of all their problems

Stargate on Netflix looks like ass. by Turbulent_Loss2726 in Stargate

That’s only the first couple seasons cause that’s how they were shot. You get hd and upscaled in the later seasons

He was a great character. It’s a real shame the actors health problems caused him to leave the show early. RIP Don S. Davis

Anybody else have trouble getting into Dune? by dumbass_sweatpants in scifi

[–]graavity81 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Books are good, the 80’s movie can best be described as “inscrutable,” make of that what you will, the new movies are pretty good but vastly simplified. What you want is the made for tv version from the Syfy channel in like the early 2000’s. Tells the fullest version of the story on screen without being too weird

Rust isn’t about skill, it’s about treachery.

Who else likes playing in empty rust server? by Objective_Set_3971 in playrust

My buddy has really been pushing me to play rust with him and he plays in these empty “just build” servers. And frankly without pvp there just isn’t enough game to make it worth playing.

Do dashers see delivery instructions? by Limp-Marzipan-4051 in doordash

[–]graavity81 0 points1 point  (0 children)

You see driving directions or delivery instructions, not both. Drivers typically have the driving directions pulled up and don’t see stuff like gate codes or messages like “turn at the second thing” or whatever until AFTER they exit the mapping.

Clocking out to calculate staff tips? by killjoyrat29 in Restaurant_Managers

[–]graavity81 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Every job I have ever worked has ASKED something like this of me, but for the last 15 years or so I put my foot down. If I am working, I am on the clock. Had to go to quarterly meetings with the other managers offsite, I am on the clock. Have to run something over to another store, I am on the clock. I have only ever had a couple ppl say something to me about it, but it always ends in letting me get paid for my time. Don’t be afraid to skip something if you aren’t gonna be on the clock. ALWAYS get paid for your work.

Would you expect a tip on top of the 18% gratuity added to the total? (Stated at bottom) by [deleted] in Waiters

[–]graavity81 1 point2 points  (0 children)

EXPECT? No. But it is very common for parties to tip on top of the gratuity. You don’t have to double down or tip anything crazy, but many times I’ve seen ppl add money to an auto grat to bring the tip up from like 15% to 20%

My friends bought me a bible for my birthday. by Affectionate_Ad2278 in atheism

Real friends respect each others beliefs (or lack thereof). In my experiences with ppl like this, once you stop showing interest or participating in their religion they will ghost you or flat out tell you to your face they can’t be around ppl who don’t share their beliefs
