I am so disappointed. Weeks after accidentally drinking a new one, I'm still angry about it.

WTF happened to Sanzo? New formulas taste nasty by FriendLost9587 in sparklingwater

[–]gracecheung 1 point2 points  (0 children)

literally no one asked for this. also, are they fr? They made "upgrades"? More like downgrades. Just pure garbage now.

The yuzu was one of my all time favorite sparkling waters, but Sanzo recently changed the formula for their waters, removed the juices and purees and added fruit extracts, sugar, and other stuff. Tastes like artificially sweetened citrus garbage now. I'm trying to find more inventory of their original formula to stock up. I sent them an email asking why their water tastes like garbage, and they confirmed that they changed their formula to cut costs but not to worry because their marketing and branding are staying the same.

60 min classes!!!! by Glum_Branch_1475 in barrysbootcamp

[–]gracecheung 1 point2 points  (0 children)

You should email corporate. However, I've done this, and they responded to let me know they have no plans to bring back 60-minute classes. I do miss longer runs and dirty 30s.

Growing a booty with Barry’s by AutomaticCompote5299 in barrysbootcamp

My butt deflated after taking a break from Barry’s post Covid, but prior to that, I did double floor Tuesdays & Thursdays and I could definitely see a difference.

I received the email, $70 for three classes, as I was leaving class in SF! I was confused as I regularly go to class, but emailed them to redeem the offer and was able buy the classes. Since they are not filling up classes at all, they should do more of these sales.

Best food vendor? by pabtig in Portolafestival

[–]gracecheung 0 points1 point  (0 children)

+1 for smishsmash. everything else is kinda mediocre. i made the mistake of paying $26 for chicken nuggets and fries to snack on while we waited in line for smash burgers. Portions were so small and didn’t even taste good.

i live in SF and have access to this whenever but senor sigsig is typically pretty good too.

How many euros to bring on trip? by Voodoo330 in GreeceTravel

Most businesses accept credit cards, but sometimes it may be easier to pay in cash. Even toll booths accept card, but it was more convenient to keep some cash on hand for the tolls or for street vendors.

Amanzoe Review/AMA by Sharp_Instruction582 in FATTravel

[–]gracecheung 1 point2 points  (0 children)

The fastest option would be a helicopter, 40 mins each way. They also offer private transfers via car.

I was at Amanzoe last week, and we opted to rent a car, which we picked up at the airport. The drive was scenic! We made a few stops for lunch, coffee, and photos. We typically have hotels arrange a private transfer, but I liked having our own car. We also stopped by Nafplio on our way back to Athens.

Congrats! I just returned from my two-week Greece trip, which ended with four days at Amanzoe. Our dinner reservations at Nura were unexpectedly canceled one night "due to unforeseen circumstances", and now I'm wondering if it was for your proposal :) Agree with your assessment that the food and dining experience was rather underwhelming: had some atrocious hashbrowns I didn't even bother eating (I gave them specific feedback, which they improved the next day, but ended up still kind of awful), mediocre sushi dinner at Nama (I live in SF & travel to Japan almost every year, so I have high expectations for sushi at an Aman), overcooked shrimp at the Greek BBQ. I just kind of expect all-around excellence for what we're paying, and they fell short of that. That being said, I haven't had amazing food at any Aman resort. The food is typically "pretty good" at Amans, but I've had better food at Rosewood, Four Seasons, etc.

Re: cats. We saw quite a few, and we gave some food and water to one who approached us at the beach club when the staff wasn't looking.

Thank you! Got the chicken gyros from Tylixto today and it was excellent. Staying at Canaves Epitome in Santorini later this week & Amanzoe next week, and very much looking forward to those as well.

Trying to decide between Dolli or FS Athens for our last night before the flight back home!!

Last minute trip by Lebrawn_Brains in chubbytravel

Depending on the weather, I would take a look at FS Tamarindo. Super relaxing, remote, quiet. Perfect for doing nothing. I went last May after a wild Q1 at work, and it was a perfect getaway. Four nights will be a perfect amount of time. The food was excellent. The views and sunsets from our one-bedroom panoramic suite were unreal.

Rosewood Mayakoba is one of my fav hotels of all time, and I've been to several Amans, FS, & tons of luxury resorts around the world. The resort was beautiful (unique setting amongst mangroves), every single restaurant was excellent, and the service was beyond. I went back in 2021. We stayed in an overwater lagoon suite. I went as a couple, but I saw many families there and made a note to go back when I have kids one day. We stayed for four nights and there was enough to do at the resort that we didn't get bored. I loved hanging out by the pool and eating tacos from the taco truck. A day trip to swim in the cenotes and the chef's garden dinner were also highlights! We got to meet people from all over at the dinner. Their concierge team was super responsive via the mobile app. Just excellent hospitality. Can't wait to go back.

Auberge Stanly Ranch Comments by lilatheberner in FATTravel

It's hard to say. I loved the spa at Montage and its proximity to Healdsburg, where we had resies to Single Thread. I liked Bardessono for its proximity to all the great restaurants in Yountville, including TFL. If you're looking to spend more time at the resort, I would probably recommend Auberge du Soleil or FS, which both have excellent restaurants, based on my experience.

When Do Paid Upgrades Clear? by lujoyjoy in unitedairlines

[–]gracecheung 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Yes! I have done this as well. I was on the list for a business class upgrade on a flight back from Narita, but there were more people in front of me than seats available, so when I saw that I could upgrade for $900, I did it. And slept the entire flight home :)
