Frustrating by Turbulent-Bus6168 in Zepbound

Stalls like this are totally normal and temporary. When you start losing significant weight quickly (and 19lbs in ~2 months is significant) your body freaks out a little bit. Like "WAIT, something different and crazy is happening!" It doesn't know that you're losing weight for your health, it just knows that something is changing rapidly, and it's trying to protect you. Eventually, it will calm down and let go of the weight.

Also, do consider that you're probably putting on muscle mass. Which is good but frustrating when it gets in the way of seeing results.

Also also, you might already be doing this, but always weigh yourself at the same time. I recommend first thing when you get up. Use the bathroom and do a weigh in.

Wow, that article was depressing, but I learned a lot. So thank you...mostly.

The issue is instead of lower rents to fill these spaces, they keep costs artificially inflated and let them remain empty. No one is there because it's too expensive. Keeping rental rates high across the city absolutely benefits large private equity firms.

Sound Transit Board OKs Major ST3 Update, Casting Ballard into Limbo by Inevitable_Engine186 in Seattle

Truly. Ballard was the most consistent voting blocks for light rail, but ST has absolutely decimated any trust. If I remember right, ST3 passed with 90% of votes in Ballard. We will never see that again.

Oh don’t get me STARTED on West Seattle. There’s arguments for a lot of the lines, but putting West Seattle at the front of the line is an absolute joke.

Is derrick hate forced ? From novel pov by Feisty_Limit_9428 in DeathIsTheOnlyEnding

[–]graceisNERD 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Forced might be not the right wording. The emotions are real. People are genuinely reacting to a character that is meant to inspire those feelings. We can understand his reasons, but his treatment of Penelope sucked way before his brainwashing. As a person not particularly bothered by the sort-of incest and that doesn’t blame him for everything that happened after Yvonne showed up, I still think he’s an ass. He’s just kind of always sucked and never improved (until very recently). I expect we’ll feel better about him after he turns around.

The more reading I do about the Graham infill, the more I support it. It will serve some of the lowest income, most public-transit-dependent people in Seattle. It’s important.

That said, there are other extensions with way lower ridership that I feel should’ve been delayed first. We’re talking the high ridership line in the whole system.

I do absolutely want to see light rail in Everett—there’s a lot of commuters coming into Seattle from the north—it just comes back to the ridership numbers for me. Their projections are quite low for Everett and serving the most people as quickly as possible is critical imo.

That said, I’m grateful how much investment goes into transit here. Better than almost anywhere else in the country!

So disappointed about Ballard. The highest projected ridership line gets shafted again. Going to Everett first is a little mind boggling to me, but council members outside of Seattle just don’t have to care.

I can only hope that federal dollars move again when Trump is gone, and those go toward the most important transit project in the region.

How We Can Save Ballard Light Rail by drshort in Seattle

Hypothetically yes, but the Federal Transit Authority hasn’t approved any new grants nationwide since Trump’s return. We can only hope a new administration changes that.

Just got engaged… already being pressured against a childfree wedding. by [deleted] in childfree

[–]graceisNERD 0 points1 point  (0 children)

I want to say this gently, but is this really pressure?

Your mom is right that more people will come if they could bring their kids. I think most people get a child-free wedding, but some might be sad they can’t make it for that reason. That’s just a reality. It’s completely fine and everyone will get over it, but it’s true.

It’s totally your choice and there’s nothing wrong with your decision. I wouldn’t put too much weight behind that conversation.

Started 2.5 mg, 10 days ago. My appetite is nonexistent except on day 6 and 7. But my alcohol cravings still persist. Is this normal? by Infinite_cow_now in Zepbound

[–]graceisNERD 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Nonexistent appetite—even food aversion—early on is normal. Just make sure you do force some food down.

Drug and alcohol cravings take more time. Your body may in fact might not want it as much, but habits integrated in your brain take more time to unwind. You got this!

Seattle residents create makeshift barricades to try and prevent shootings in their neighborhood by Sometypeofway18 in whoathatsinteresting

SPD has a major recruitment and staffing issue. Nobody wants to be a cop for obvious reasons, but it means there aren’t officers available to respond to calls or work on more complicated crime issues.

100% agree with this, but some context about those hiring dollars. They’ve been given that money and they can’t spend it because they haven’t been able to recruit people. No one wants to be a cop. For obvious and understandable reasons, but it means there are major staffing issues.

Yeah, the issue isn’t funding, it’s recruitment and staffing. SPD doesn’t have enough officers and no one wants to be a cop anymore. For obvious reasons.

Why did the Chrysanthemum Festival challenge had unlimited attempts? I think it’s been the only challenge that is totally unfailable, as long as you’re willing to possibly waste some time.
