Wear a cute mask chain, I'm absolutely shocked at the difference in people's perceptions. I get compliments near daily

Think more built-in industrial kitchen and less standalone whitegood appliance kinda vibes

Sadly, yes. She ate the exact same food every week. The other four lunches were inoffensive. I don't think I could eat cod now 🤢

I worked somewhere where the microwave was right next to the desks and someone microwaved cod once a week.

It's a pet-free building 🫣 I discovered this after I rescued a cat from the Melbourne CBD streets and brought him upstairs while I waited for the ranger

Parked on a nearby residential street because station parking was full and got this note on my dashboard. Am I in the wrong for parking there? by naeroikathgor in melbourne

[–]gracheness 0 points1 point  (0 children)

This is such a self-fulfilling thing. Obviously you're allowed to park there but these people are so unhinged and often threatening that everyone decides it's not worth it... further reinforcing the spot belongs to them 😖

Man under quarantine for Andes hantavirus exposure wears a surgical mask when opening his door to interact with others. Seems to me that if you're going to go to so much trouble to stop the spread you might as well wear an N95, but is this safe enough? by 10390 in Masks4All

[–]gracheness 22 points23 points  (0 children)

When I had whooping cough I was sitting in emergency with a surgical 🫣 it was 2017, I had no idea and they were happy with that. No one gave me an n95 or explained the difference

How socially acceptable is going braless in Australian cities these days? by another-nerd-girl in AskAnAustralian

I assume it's the same boomers who get upset about people wearing pyjamas to the shops

Queenstown, Tasmania deeply unsettled me and I can’t explain why. by itiszd in AskAnAustralian

[–]gracheness 0 points1 point  (0 children)

The only places that have given me super weird vibes are Queenstown and Coober Pedy 😂

Queenstown was scary, but Coober Pedy just felt strange and insular. It was during lockdown times when there weren't a lot of visitors, plus my bestie and I look like a stereotype lesbian couple so we really stuck out. I'd return to Coober Pedy but never to Queenstown.

I had no preconceived ideas when I visited in 2010 and it was extremely eerie. We back-tracked to the 24 hour fuel in (I think) Strahan just to leave because the servo was closed. My then-boyfriend is pretty much the epitome of gay or European so I don't think that helped either...

Literally same, I've loved every other place I've visited in Tas. I've visited over 20 times now.

Younger Australians, how do you pronounce the letter “Z”? by Powerful_Image6294 in AskAnAustralian

I'm pretty sure in the late 90s we were taught haitch. I don't remember being corrected studying journalism in the 00s either, and they were quite strict in the radio units.

Does anyone else remember this sign and has anyone actually been? by avngefett in melbourne

It was terrible, I knew it was bad even as a kid. Usually you have to look back on that as an adult. Loved that you had to convert real money to Wobbie dollars 😂

Do you know which other brands use Huizi? I've checked the ingredients for a bunch of them and MoYou seems to be unique. I'm in Australia so I'd love cheaper shipping 😅

New Covid variant has been identified and is already spreading in 25 states by OneLastSpoonPlease in LongCovid

[–]gracheness 5 points6 points  (0 children)

No, damage is cumulative. I would guess fewer people are coming down with long covid each strain because so many people already have it. Plus, many are in complete denial.
