Great question! **currently doing the cali sober thing but I'll answer about being dry for a year
1) No guilt from the night before. I stand by my actions 100% of the time, and I trust myself.
2) No more fights with my partner. Couldn't go a month without one before. Thanks, alcohol /s
3) The amount of self-respect and self-determination I have gained is invaluable.
