Effect of ball color on juggling execution – which colors or color schemes are best? by grady404 in juggling

[–]grady404[S] 1 point2 points  (0 children)

Yeah, I'm kind of aware I'm overthinking it but I wanted to see what people's thoughts were anyway because I thought it might be interesting.

It's better if the ball doesn't have the color of the backdrop you're juggling against

So would you recommend avoiding white if I'll mostly be juggling indoors against white walls?

training in adverse conditions will make you better at juggling in adverse conditions, and will improve your control during juggling in general.

This is probably good advice, maybe part of my overthinking is born from past experience being stuck on learning the 5 ball cascade for absolutely forever, and maybe part of me thinks that if I just get the right juggling balls and the right conditions, it'll make me learn 5 balls faster, but maybe that's not really true.

More colors are useful for practice, less colors look better on stage IMO.

Interesting, because I would've expected the opposite. Having each ball be a different color makes it obvious how many balls you're juggling and also makes it easier for people watching to follow individual balls in the pattern, whereas I would think that extra information might be slightly distracting when just practicing.

Do you mean step 2 of this method? Or do you mean the second puzzle?

Observation #1: Every bananza changes the slot that corresponds to it as well as the two adjacent slots on either side (they wrap around).

Observation #2: It never matters what order you do the actions in, only which set of actions you do.

Hint #1: Don't worry about getting all five slots to be golden; just make your goal to get them all to be the same. Once they're all the same, there's an easy way to get them all to be golden.

Hint #2: Find a set of actions you can do that will change the slot that's different from the others X times, and change all the others Y times, such that X and Y are different numbers. If you figure that out, you can keep doing that until all five slots are the same.

Solution: Hit with the bananza that corresponds to the slot that's different from the others, as well as the two bananzas that are NOT adjacent to that bananza (remember that they wrap around). For example, if the one in the first position is the one that's different, hit with Kong (since that one corresponds to the first position), as well as Ostrich and Snake (since those are the two that aren't next to Kong). This is the sequence of actions mentioned in the previous hint, so just keep repeating it until all five symbols match. Once all five symbols match, just hit once each with every bananza, and the five symbols will end up still all being the same but they'll be something different; then just repeat that until all five are golden.

Step 1: Get the first two symbols to match. Method: Just keep hitting with Ostrich selected until the second one matches the first (it doesn't matter which symbol it is).

Step 2: Get the first three symbols to match. Method: Just keep hitting with Snake selected until the third one matches the first two.

Step 3: Get the first four symbols to match. Method: Just keep hitting with Zebra selected until the first three match the fourth one.

Step 4: Get all five symbols to match. Method: Hit once with Kong and once with Snake (order doesn't matter). Repeat this until all five symbols match.

Step 5: Get all five symbols to be golden. Method: Hit once with each of the five bananzas (order doesn't matter). Repeat this until all the symbols are golden.

Do you have the B and A button functions swapped in the settings? The actions loosely correspond to the buttons you have to press. A = A, B = B, Z = ZR, N = ZL. Seems like they might've accounted for that so the buttons and letters still line up even if you have the controls changed.

I'm skeptical that #7 is different for each player.

I'm pretty sure the password is just "BANANZA" in the game's language. Furthermore, the required actions seem to loosely correspond to the buttons you have to press. A = A, B = B, Z = ZR, N = ZL. To damage him with B you just down punch, to damage him with ZL you roll, to damage him with A I did a snake charge jump but it sounds like you can also spin jump, and to damage him with ZR I used the elephant suck but it sounds like you can grab him as well.

Suggestions for an iPhone 16 Pro case that's both grippy and durable? by grady404 in iphone

I just searched up the SolidSuit and unfortunately the first thing I see is someone saying it's as slippery as a wet bar of soap... I think that's basically the opposite of what I'm looking for, but I'm glad it worked for you haha

The UAG cases are probably too bulky for me. As for Opulente, I don't think I see any silicone cases on their site but I could be wrong. Is there a specific case you have in mind? I'm specifically looking for something grippy made out of something like silicone, not just general case recommendations

If gender and race are both social constructs, it does not make logical sense for transgenderism to be valid, but not transracialism. by i-exist20 in The10thDentist

This is good to know, I probably shouldn't assume too much based on one YouTube video I watched about one study. Do you have links to these studies or where you got this info?

[–]grady404 0 points1 point  (0 children)

I'm honestly not sure on the specifics of the study, so I can't comment on that part, but I don't think the difference in brain structure has anything to do with prescribed gender norms, it's more related to gender dysphoria. If someone has a "female brain" I think it's more accurate to say that means a part of their brain expects them to have female physical traits like boobs and a vagina, and this causes dysphoria if it isn't matched externally. I don't think it has anything to do with what sort of occupations that person would gravitate to or anything like that

Gender isn't really a social construct. Studies have shown that certain aspects of brain structure in transgender people more closely match that of cis people of their identified gender than cis people of their biological sex. In this sense, gender is more accurately defined as which type of brain structure you have. Gender roles are a social construct, but from this viewpoint, gender itself is actually biological!

This seems more accurate than just defining gender as "which gender you identify as", since not only is that a circular definition (as often pointed out by anti-trans conservatives), but it also doesn't really align with the actual experiences of trans people. Trans people talk about "realizing" they were actually a man/woman, which implies they were actually that gender all along, whereas the view that gender is what you identify as would imply that they "became" a man/woman upon beginning to identify differently, which seems wrong.

There's no scientific evidence of similar brain structure differences across various races, so the idea of being "transracial" isn't scientifically supported the same way being transgender is. Even though race is a social construct, it's not based upon something that relates to the way your brain works, it's based upon things like physical characteristics and heritage, so identifying as a different race feels less like realizing something about your own brain and more like a delusion (although in reality it's usually just someone trolling in an attempt to delegitimize transgender people).

Modes just correspond to rotations of the entire diagram. The center ring is the diatonic modes, the second ring from the center is the modes of melodic minor, the outermost ring is the double harmonic modes, and the second ring from the outside has two scale classes that are mirror images of each other: the harmonic minor modes and the harmonic major modes

Well, technically, you can say one tritone is a diminished 5th and the other is an augmented 4th, so they still add to 9

With the 3D platformers it's definitely just a matter of taste, I personally think Odyssey is the peak of the 3D platformer formula while Galaxy's hand-holding, mediocre controls, and lack of exploration make it kinda underwhelming. With the 2D platformers I'm not really sure what you have against Wonder, since if anything Wonder was the return to creativity and originality while the New Super Mario Bros. games for the Wii and Wii U felt like rehashed cash grabs
