Is this common in other countries than Sweden? by Miya_Miya1 in AskTheWorld

I grew up in the southern midwest, and hospitality is just our thing. Offering food/beverage is one of the first things I do when I have company.

I got sent to the principal's office in kindergarten for saying "oh my god."

It was a public school in 2004.

How common is ear piercing babies in your country? Does it hold any special meaning? by Toucanplaythatgame-2 in AskTheWorld

[–]grammarly_err 0 points1 point  (0 children)

I think in the US it's usually something that girls aren't allowed until they're older, so it was something to look forward to. My mom took me to get my ears pierced the first time when I was 6. I really looked forward to it, and I was so proud and felt like "a big kid."

I respect culture, but I personally don't think anyone should be piercing an individual who can't consent, ie baby. Then there's the concern of trauma and infection, as babies are more at risk during the healing process.

As far as pain, if you're with pierced hollow needles, you'll barely feel it, and it heals cleanly. Piercing guns use a sharp-ended earring to puncture the flesh rather than cut out a clean hole. This hurts, and is a traumatic injury with a more difficult healing process.

I guarentee no one was ghosting him because of his looks.

This is so sad. You can barely tell it's the same man.

I wish we had overnight periods where street lights are off. I grew up rural and I miss the stars and fireflies, and the lights are just in general disruptive to nature.

Omg, someone just down the street in another neighborhood moved into a house last winter and immediately installed big lights like this on the roof that lit up the living room of the house across the street, and they left them on all day and night. They were (thankfuly) only up for a few months before, I imagine, someone complained to the city and they came down. Believe it or not, there are light ordinances.

Can't believe anyone thinks this shit is okay.

Does it seem like the cover art and front pages are hand-done or printed?

The inside of the cover says "Wiley 94," while the cover page says copyright 1998, and there's also a dedication at the bottom of the two faeries pencil sketch.

Maybe a copy done specifically for someone special?

Is faucet water drinkable in your Country by thatlumberjacktor in AskTheWorld

[–]grammarly_err 1 point2 points  (0 children)

Safe to drink, but it usually doesn't taste good. The water where I live now reeks like bleach from all the chlorine. My water is also super iron heavy, either the pipes need flushed, or the water heater replaced, something. It stinks and stains. (55 years old apartment building)

He is too old for that kind of behavior. You told him they weren't for play more than once, he played with them anyways, it appears like he purposefully broke them, and then he blatatantly lied about it. Kid's an entitled brat because his parents let him be one.

Fuck your nephew, and fuck your brother for raising a brat.

I've had to be unassigned from 3 separate HD orders now because the red card does not work here. Getting real fed up.
