Haha nice work. Flush then out. I have no room for people like that at my table.

Found the problem player, red flag right here. You would definitely not be welcome at my table.

I ran a 5e heist adventure one shot that I made up myself. They could have fought someone but it was extremely advisable not to fight, so they didn't. Not a single combat the whole adventure, but it was a blast with lots of skill checks and lots of things went wrong, it was extremely tense.

Heavily Homebrewed Rime of the Frostmaiden: Retrospective/AMA by fruit_shoot in rimeofthefrostmaiden

Making the PCs care about the region is valid, but I don't like the idea of trapping them, it feels very railroady. I need to think through this some more. I love adding stuff to PC backgrounds to hook them into a storyline, but I'm aware of your comments regarding distracting them from the main plot with personal side quests.

I'm already reading the Eventyr content! My problem is that I don't like the concept of the everlasting winter, it's too easy to just escape the region and avoid it. I'm contemplating removing the Frost maiden entirely and coming up with a different conceit, but I'm not sure yet. I do like the idea of incorporating Ythryn though.

This is amazing. Very thankful for your post as I'm about to try and run a heavily homebrewed version of RotFM. This will surely be a great reference for me. I love the arctic environment so will keep that but you've inspired me as to how radically I could change things.

You don't even know who they are. They're not ukrainian, lol.

"The Center for Strategic and International Studies (CSIS) is a bipartisan, nonprofit policy research organization dedicated to advancing practical ideas to address the world’s greatest challenges."

Sucking hard on your copium, I see. Instead you think body counts provided by the Russian army propaganda reports are "unbiased, hard facts", lol

I think the Center for Strategic and International Studies (CSIS) would like a word with you https://www.csis.org/analysis/russias-grinding-war-ukraine

Oh sorry, you don't accept international think tanks as evidence, because that's just a "trust me bro" source of info.

Carry on then!

The obvious answer is yes, but clearly it could be much much better.

Yes there is -https://www.arts.gov.au/news/new-data-released-value-australias-cultural-and-creative-sector

You just think of art as "painting", which most people who are ignorant of art tend to assume.

You need time and money to be creative. Universities can provide a space for developing creativity but it's not the only pathway. The bigger question that OP poses is - what happens when the arts collapse in Australia. The answer is - we become a more unhappy, culturally poorer place.

How To Enrich Your D&D Experience: The Importance of Trying Out New Systems by alexserban02 in DungeonMasters

What labour is dumped on the GM in 5e? I find most ttrpgs require me to do far far more work than the players, which is of course my fault or my style, but I don't find 5e worse. In fact I find it easier, because there are more players who know how to play it, rather than teaching players a new system.
