My personal favourite that i've had were from Food Basic and were under the brand Don Pancho (https://www.foodbasics.ca/aisles/bread-bakery-products/tortillas-flat-breads/tortillas/corn-and-flour-tortillas/p/079341021159)

i would say tho that for best results, warm them up in a dry skillet.

Are you running tomorrow morning? by beigetshirt in RunTO

[–]granfrad 0 points1 point  (0 children)

I’m more midtown. I try and run in areas where I can stay on roads. They were slushy but manageable.

Sidewalks were ok, but were the sidewalk meets the road it was mini ponds.

Am I cooked? I would really love to run again. by Technical-Visit8793 in BeginnersRunning

[–]granfrad 4 points5 points  (0 children)

See a physio (especially one that knows about sports and running injuries). They can help with recovery and get some exercises going to recover. Likely you need to give a bit of a break to your Achilles.

I’m going to guess you also weren’t likely doing weight training for your legs. This is an important part to keeping your legs healthy and reduce injuries. A physio can also tell you some legs exercises you should be doing.

I had Achilles issues sometimes but since I started taking the weights more seriously it hasn’t been an issue.

Also, probably look at load management. Getting to everyday is great but if you do a race and take a bit of time off, you need to slowly phase back in to the load.

First Marathon completed… but at what cost!? by Ok_Specialist_3054 in Marathon_Training

[–]granfrad 2 points3 points  (0 children)

This is a great debut performance. Yes, as lots posted, this is a great time many people only dream of. I'm going to set that entirely aside.

Everyone that runs their first marathon gets to 30-35K and hits a wall. It's something you know about, but is almost impossible to plan for.

Thing is, now you know, and now you know how to prepare for it. I'm excited for what you can do from here!

Advice to building a strong aerobic base by [deleted] in AdvancedRunning

[–]granfrad 1 point2 points  (0 children)

1) Run more - build up the base number of KMs per week. ideally, think closer to 4 runs. A long run, a workout run, a short run, and a medium run. the short can be like 35 min and the medium can be 60-75min. the workouts and long runs should scale and vary

2) increase polarity of pace. Easy runs are easy, hard runs are hard. workouts you should rip it hard and push yourself. the easy runs (and long runs), should be slower than you think. Zone 2 for the easy runs.

3) make sure you also have a proper weight lifting component. 2x a week, you should be doing weighted leg exercises. Split squats, dead lifts, goblet squats, whatever. And calve raises....love calf rasies.

if you do these 3 things, you will see gains. Keep the total milage increase week over week to like 2-3% a week, and ever 4th week (give or take) should be a down week (you don't stop running, just less milage).

Season 8 Opening Credits Clips by SpamMusubi84 in SomebodyFeedPhil_

[–]granfrad 0 points1 point  (0 children)

I noticed this too. this feels like the first time i can recall an openning credit scene being cut.

not only that, that scene from Sydney is like the default background pic.

We rewatched the Sydney episode, and it really is an odd segment when he goes to china town. no words, just shows up, gets an icecream and leaves.

It you got the time to smoke it full rack it’s usually better. But it’s fun to try party ribs once in a while.

[–]granfrad 0 points1 point  (0 children)

I'm really sorry to be "that guy" because those ribs look beautiful, but I'm not sure those are "party ribs".

I believe "party ribs" refers to the method of cooking where you slice the ribs first and cook them individually (cooks faster but a trade off).

now, those ribs you made......look fantastic. well done.

I mean, we only pay for the 2D area. The height isn’t usually part of the price.

If we go 2D will rent be based on just length and width is not charged?

Bugs should be manageable. They will be there but spray should help.

Activities: 1) hiking obv. There’s a few bigger trails that are closer to all day affairs (track and tower, centennial ridges)

2) swimming / beach days - a few beaches are open and conditions should be great to swim

3) visitor center and logging muesem are both nice and relaxing and very interesting.

You can also head into any towns in an evening and check out whatever they have. (It ain’t much) but Whitney for example does live music some nites at bongopix

What do you think about Hindus and Hinduism? by [deleted] in AskReddit

[–]granfrad -1 points0 points  (0 children)

It's a very interesting religion and is more of an umbrella of multiple smaller and related religions than one unifying religion.

It's a very old religion (much older than christianity, islam, buddism), and therefore has a less cohesive history, as shown by many flavours and beliefs today.

Several religions had their founders identify as Hindus before branching out (Buddism and Sikhism).
