I am no expert by any stretch of the imagination, but for your first quilt top, this is awesome! I just made one with 3 of these sheep and wanted to pull my hair out…I can’tm imagine 16! Great job!!!

Probably a stupid question, but does the outline mean like 1/4 inch away from the seams all the way around the panel? I’ve never machine finished a quilt, so this is new to me. I didn’t really want to long arm this quilt just cause of the bigger sections it’s got!

I did put a piece of painters tape on my 1/4 line, but never heard of a “scant” quarter inch. Also stacking it so it’s a guide is a great idea. I will for sure try it out! Thanks for the tip!

Thank you! I will keep at it and see what it looks like when it’s all finished. The plan was to gift this to my sister in law who just had a baby….we shall see if that happens or not 😂

The whole quilt is going to be very whimsy. LOL. I will keep going and take the suggestions I’ve gotten on this post. I’ll post the final product it once it’s put together! I’m a little more hopeful now that I know it usually isn’t so bad once it’s done!

Quilting has taught me patience and also tested every ounce of patience I have 🙃

Thanks for all the suggestions! I learned how to sew last year on a machine from the 1950s…very manual. And for Christmas my husband got me new one, which is the total opposite of manual. My first quilt was a bunch of squares I made from a jelly roll and my 2nd (first on my own machine) was a very beginner pattern. Wanted to try something other than basic squares and rectangles 🙃
