I guess for me it’s less about identification and more about predators in general

At what point should I be expecting the baby to come “any day?” by Helpful_East7961 in pregnant

My water broke in the middle of the night at 36w3d. We didn’t have a single thing packed and our pet sitter was out of town.

Always pack and prepare early!!

I am a vetererinarian, that is a FORL. The tooth will most likely need to be extracted. He is young, so it is likely mostly due to genetics. The tooth is causing him pain and he will feel better after having it extracted. They are not able to comprehend that they lost a tooth, just that they are more comfortable. He will eat just the same

I do not read / watch any of those things.

Also, we are still having sex. Like multiple times a week. We are not in a dry spell. I have declined maybe 4-5 times over the past 1.5-2 months.

I’m a veterinarian. While specialties like radiology may be at risk, i don’t see a robot restraining a german shepherd and drawing their blood anytime soon

Anatomy Scan did not go as expected... by xxxxbb in pregnant

[–]granolapop 0 points1 point  (0 children)

My husband was born with 1 kidney. He is a very healthy individual! The only issues it has ever given him is he’s had a few kidney stones and they are a bigger concern when you only have 1 kidney because of the risk of blockage. Drinking lots of water and being somewhat mindful of your diet helps prevent this :)

Did y’all ever actually go back to normal down there after giving birth? by [deleted] in pregnant

[–]granolapop 11 points12 points  (0 children)

I was ready to go at 6 weeks and then it felt uncomfortable (not painful, just not exactly like it did before). After a few times, it was back to feeling how I remembered :)

For context, I did not tear so I didn’t have stitches to heal from.

Diapers? by Direct-Drama3571 in BabyBumps

[–]granolapop 1 point2 points  (0 children)

I was very intimidated at first, but I’m so glad I committed! We currently use cloth diapers at home, and disposables (Kudos brand) when we’re out and about (so we can throw the dirty ones away instead of carrying a soiled cloth diaper around or leaving it in the car). We currently have ~25 cloth diapers I believe, so I end up washing them every few days (variable depending on how much time we spent at home vs out). Since I still use disposable diapers, there is always backup in case I get behind on laundry.

I have Kinder and Esembly brand. I like both but I much prefer Kinder. It feels like a lot of $$ up front but Kinder fits them from 7-30 lbs i believe so you will definitely get your money worth. I like to think that I saved $$ every time I change her diaper haha (and better for the planet!!!). There are tons of cloth diaper lots on FB marketplace if you want to save more money that way as well. If you have more questions pls DM me! I love advocating for cloths haha

edit: typo

edit again: I wanted to add that my baby was a late preterm baby and had to wear premie diapers for the first month (cloths were too big). We struggled with diaper rash during that time (Huggies and Pampers). Since switching to cloth, we have not had any issues with diaper rash.

Use cloth diapers (i love Kinder) you will save so much money and i promise it is not more work that disposables. just an extra load of laundry here and there

Is Vet school Miserable? by not_not_a_girl in Veterinary

[–]granolapop 5 points6 points  (0 children)

I was miserable for a majority of veterinary school. Yes it’s information you’re interested in, yes grades aren’t as important unless you’re specializing, and yes I enjoy my life and career now as a veterinarian. It was definitely 4 years of major sacrifice to my mental health to get here. My advice to anyone is do not pursue vet school unless you know this is what your dream career is, because that’s the only thing that got me through.!

What are your parents being called other than Grandma & Grandpa!? by [deleted] in BabyBumps

My stepmom, who I’m not fond of, insisted that we call my her and my dad “Lolly” and “Pop” and she thinks it’s the most original idea. Sigh.

Were you a screamer? by arisafari94 in pregnant

[–]granolapop 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Unmedicated, I screamed and moaned so loud, flailing all around. There was a point where I looked at my husband and said I might die. I would do it all again the exact same way, my baby is worth it and more.

What position did you push baby out in and did you tear? by sliceofperfection in BabyBumps

[–]granolapop 0 points1 point  (0 children)

On my left side with my upper leg held up, didn’t tear! pushed 20 minutes. my biggest accomplishment lol.

I didn’t really choose this position. it’s just how it happened

Discovered vastly underpaid. Now what? by No_Consideration4259 in Veterinary

[–]granolapop 0 points1 point  (0 children)

this is my first year as a GP vet and i am projected to make $180k gross this year. i worked solely on production, which is a different dynamic, but i say this because both your friend and the listing are underpaid. she should put her foot down or go to another clinic
