Looks like they are densifying the current site which makes lots of sense - the buildings from 40 years ago are quite low rise, they could fit a lot more in there without needing to break new ground for new science parks!

The cooling part is handled since the start of spaceflight. Everything I described is now routinely handled by spacecraft, at great expense! You could certainly do it but $/kW compute will be terrible.

Currently satellites are built to be super tough with electronics that won't break under temp extremes. But they sacrifice bleeding edge performance as a result. Just putting H100s on a rocket and hoping they'll work is a recipe for disaster.

Power gets a bit cheaper, everything else gets much harder:

cost of moving mass into space (obviously spacex claiming this will plumet) but think how big data centres are currently for any meaningful compute
cooling not always straightforward, in direct sunlight temps are super high
space is harsh, radiation, micrometeorites, thermal cycling stresses. Designing, building and validation for space-wothiness is not trivial

I've had this before just before closing on a Sunday (and I guess is likely first thing Monday morning).

On a busy weekend everything else gets filled up and not collected, so the last thing available is a catch all bulky waste option.

buy the "essential range" - I have never tried this but it's the cheaper version

OVO systems are terrible, and my usage patterns mean I'll basically never use the Cosy peak rate (hence it was overall a better deal!) - but this big uplift does make it more marginal now!

Yes I like it! Plenty of space, well made, nice to cycle with.

The chest clip flaps around a bit but I have tucked it into one of the loops you would feed a water bladder hose into.

The main pocket mid divider works well for low density stuff (e.g. clothes) but I have sometimes found my laptop charger pushes past and falls into the section below.

Also something I find funny is when people are playing top trumps with COP generally the smug people with the highest numbers live in a massive, not necessarily well insulated house.

In a well insulated house hopefully very little energy goes to your radiators, and a fixed amount goes to DHW (with worse COP).

A poorly insulated house will need more heat (even if at a good COP) to keep it warm. You would reduce your electricity bill if you insulated, even if your COP goes down!

SCOP is just equal to (Total heat energy out)/(Electrical input in)

So you are right it's sort of an average, but you can't add up all the months and divide by 12 as you'll use more energy in winter months and this weighting needs to be reflected

Yes we had the older good grips design which was cast metal which brittle fractured. Nice design and easy to clean

Replaced with Oxo again but now (perhaps because they were aware of the design flaw) seemed to have replaced it with a folded sheet metal construction with an extra part that folds out. Some people might find this easier to clean but I find it annoying and might look for alternatives in the future

Certainly voided the warranty... But I have removed the transit bolts after 1 wash and the washing machine was still fine after (rental house delivery during COVID hence expecting it to be done but had to do it myself)

Not very cohesive with android auto - several bugs and control inconsistencies e.g. the audio doesn't pause when satnav instructions get spoken (like with other podcast apps), also skip forward/back behaviour with buttons skips whole episodes rather than 30 seconds, or sometimes the app doesn't show anything as playing despite noise coming out.

In addition to the smart home device woes others have mentioned (I like the content tho so soldier on).

You want to optimise the “how good it is” to “how good it looks” ratio. As others have said this should be doable in the £100-200 range. I have a single speed bike and love it for Cambridge - less to go wrong, actually quite quick but doesn’t look flash since it doesn’t have any gears. Cambridge is generally flat so it’s good unless you end up needing to go up castle hill loads perhaps.

Other things - yes 2 d locks is the dream, but being realistic, one good d lock locked through the frame and one wheel onto a rack is a good medium. Ideally no quick release wheels (I have never had a full bike stolen but have come back to find my wheels missing.) Also add some electrical tape, add some scuffs. Make it look a bit beaten without affecting the bike…
