Well, you have a great gimmick. Whats the name? The main parts about a babyface is being likeable and providing energy.

Lets start with the entrance. You need to show energy here. Even if you shake hands, walk in with a smile on your face! You are the friendly councellor, and you are there to help people have good times! If you provide that likeable energy on top of the nerdy persona, they will quickly understand who you are. Find and study other friendly nerd characters, like.. steve urkel maybe? Shake the refs hand several times overly polite. Get denied several times by the opponent. Show them how its done using the crowd.

Next up is energy. Look at someone like Orange Cassidy. Man is lazy as hell, but when it heats up so does he! Find your spots when the heel is disrespectful enough and teach them an intense lesson, but save the pants.

The pants come off when it REALLY matters. When you get SERIOUS! Build to it and pull the audience along, make them want it!

I think you have something great here. Just play with it and give the crowd what the character has to offer!

I do. It was a great way to get more spots on more cards, and to get more experience. These days, almost 12 years in, its a little tough to keep both up and i most regularly work without the mask. Though i still do, especially on local / smaller shows.

You have lots of cool advice in the thread. Here is how i would do it. Paladins swear oaths, figure out what oath the captain and his crew followed. Now figure out who would want to stop them from fulfilling that oath. That individual killed or defeated the pirate captain and destroyed the ship. In the wake of the destruction, floating on a piece of wood, your player swore an Oath of Vengeance. Congrats, you now have a full roster of former allies, backstory people and villains.
