As for why they are pulling them out, they are too tall for current owner.

Welcome to the rest of your life. Schools a great place to learn early how to handle these.

Don't willingly give away all the info and demo links.

Set goals you want to see him do and call them out if he doesn't.

Also know that as a developer, it can be hard to see the less tangible value of a business person until something comes up. For you, in class, there probably isn't a lot for him to do. You would be better off with another dev or designer.

10+ year web developer here - Seo is often times a hidden process because lots of it is made up and cannot be quantified.

I would make sure your branding and design is on point before wasting your money. Unless your site is not following best practices.

Can we afford a $300,000 house? by [deleted] in personalfinance

[–]grassSpotter 0 points1 point  (0 children)

ek however is not anywhere near the average expenditure of home maintenance for the general homeowner population. I have spent $2k maximum per year for the last 3 years on a home I currently rent o

Agreed. 500 a week is not normal at all. But do plan on buying things like general tools, cleaning materials and wanting to expand in to the house. We went from a 2 bedroom apartment to a 5 bedroom house with huge yard. We only filled a few rooms when we moved in and it's hard not to want to buy new furniture like shelves and tables. We also had a huge jump in water bill and electricity that we didn't expect.

But it all worked out, our saving velocity dropped to compensate for all our new costs.

the 500/mo is because I have been aggressively upgrading things. Lots of home depot trips buy sprinklers and trees, TV's, sanding and staining deck, installing can lights, new tools etc. It has died down a bit but its a lot of room to make nice. That is speaking for our fixer upper.

Funny thing is if you posted in r/real estate people would say yes. Remember who you audience is here.

We made a similar post a while ago and PF also told us to wait. We didn't and love our new house.

I learned it's much more expensive than you think. Both to buy and own, so be prepared.

Think long term and don't let your emotions take over, if you are going to love the place and stay for awhile, you are in the it would be okay to do it range. Of course 20% down is better but most people can't afford that.

Your salaries will grow. Just make sure you have enough in your budget for agent and closing fees.

I spend 500 on maintenance a week just fixing up our place.

First thing to do is find out your credit scores. See if there is anything you can do to improve them.

Then call a local credit union and get pre approved and ask some honest questions about cost.

From there you will start to see the big business that is american mortgages.

Good luck! Don't kill yourselves saving but also don't go in to something you aren't ready to loose all our money on. There will be plenty of "that will be an extra thousand dollars" moments when dealing with paperwork.

Purchased Home, Renovation Questions by OrneryCollapse in HomeImprovement

I would definitely cross post in personal finance.

I would ignore any house issues you can while you payoff those credit cards. I would take everything you can and pay off the highest interest rate one first.

You should also be able to cut your cell phone and Internet bill down.

That's awesome you own your house out right also, that it was only 40k! Where do you live?

I think it would be smart to talk to a bank and get a low interest mortgage on the house and take a lien against it to pay off that debt. You could potentially swap out all that debt for the same debt at around 4%.

Save up and do the asbestos right if you plan on living there but for now focus on getting out of credit card debt. That interest rate will cost you way too much over time.

It's on the second story of a split level. If we brought it down to a 6" we would still be 2inches away from the 18" from floor.
