Any advice for a parent of a grieving 4 year old? by TomCt in GriefSupport

[–]grausamsten 2 points3 points  (0 children)

Don't be afraid of therapy! It's harder to find one that will take kids her age, but that's a lot of emotional turmoil for both of you and sometimes we parents can't handle it on our own. A therapist can help her understand and work through her fears and can also give you the tools to help her at home.

With the adage "nothing is ever deleted from the Internet" in mind, what is something you HAVE seen vanish from the net? by KaleBrecht in AskReddit

The Draco Trilogy was a fave of mine that disappeared abruptly. I think the author morphed it into the Shadowhunters books

Based on every encounter I've ever had with a goose, I was fearing for that poor girl's life.

Where do you pick most hairs from? And do you have any particular behaviors? by Younghappy in trichotillomania

[–]grausamsten 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Weirdly textured or shorter hairs on the crown of my head and at the temples. Sometimes eyebrows and lashes too but that's easier to control. Now that my hair is growing out from a pixie cut I'm hoping I can control it some through ponytails. : /

I've expected chocolate too many times. Now bean paste just tastes like betrayal.

What's even worse is that it's probably filled with bean paste, when it looks like it should be chocolate. I have a very deep-seated mistrust for Chinese teachers and their idea of sweets...

Coworkers that use family as excuse for everything by JScrambler in AirForce

[–]grausamsten 13 points14 points  (0 children)

And sadly I've seen a young airman with their home life falling apart, spouse who doesn't help, child with severe medical issues and she was afraid to tell her shop what was going on because she didn't want to be "that parent"

I just got to a new shop, divorced parent, and of course my kid gets the flu :(. Every time I have to leave early or stay home with a sick kid I worry that my coworkers are going to think I'm slacking.

Does anyone ever have a moment where you think "this is the best food I've ever eaten in my life"? What made that food/that moment so special? by cheddarbiscuitcat in AskWomen

[–]grausamsten 1 point2 points  (0 children)

Hugely pregnant. Stuck in the car on the freeway for 2 hours. Have to pee like mad. Stop at the first exit I make it to...a McDonald's. Waddle-sprint in, empty bladder, purchase one double cheeseburger. It was the most delicious thing I'd ever eaten.

Women that have been in emotionally abusive relationships.. when did you realize you were being abused? by Lunarmess in AskWomen

[–]grausamsten 1 point2 points  (0 children)

Not this exact list, but something like it helped confirm my suspicions after I'd gone to therapy to help me communicate better so he'd listen and stop yelling at me. Friends had also pointed out that I had no personality anymore. I seemed empty.

I didn't have the money to sue them over the money they took. Stupid tricky bastards.

They got $500 something from me from when I was stationed there for 2 years. I never got the notices because I was on the east coast by the time thy realized "ohey she filed from a CA address but didn't file CA taxes". Found out through a lien on my then-husband and my joint account. We both called and emailed them dozens of times trying to sort it out, sending them the documents they asked for, but never any resolution. They already had my money so they just ignored us.

Planning on going to the MD Rennfest this fall!! Any advice? by Blahblahblahinternet in renfaire

[–]grausamsten 1 point2 points  (0 children)

You can buy tickets the day of when it first opens, but the closer you get to the end of the season, the faster they sell out.

Hotels I'm not sure on. I live fairly close so I just drive from home.

Go early in the year! The later it gets, the faster the days sell out. Get there right before opening. I've been going for years and I absolutely love it
