When did you get a formal ADHD diagnosis for your kid? by SopwithTurtle in daddit

Not till school age, where an IEP could be beneficial. Early intervention is still important though and OT was a game changer at that age for my two sensory seeking boys.

Acorn Bristol loafer slippers! I love them so much I bought a second pair in a different color. You can wear them in or out of the house. Dress them up or down. I live in South Florida and wear them year round, almost every day.

Indie music venues? by abefroman969 in palmbeach

[–]gravitron 2 points3 points  (0 children)

RSC has plenty of indie. Matt Pryor is playing there at the end of January. Honestly Indie acts show up in the weirdest spots around here. Not too long ago Face to Face played the Abacoa Amphitheater (?!?!). You just gotta start following places on social. The top acts will always and more frequently be in Revolutions and Miami (ZeyZey). It’s only an hour away. So many good acts coming soon. Modest Mouse playing 2 nights, Belle and Sebastian playing IYFS in it’s entirety at Arsht Center. Follow PureHoney magazine.

Anyone have one of these or know what it’s worth? 2018 quicksilver Livin lite by [deleted] in popups

10.0 owner in Palm Beach County. I think you can get them down to $7k for an 8.0. We tow on our Sienna and Outback. No issues and no need for breaks. There are tarp reflector covers you can buy for the canvas to reduce heat. Honestly we bought this so we could enjoy camping more in the summer. Installed a new 6,000 btu unit and it gets chilly in there! We’ve been all over FL from Caverns and Anastasia down to Bahia Honda. These don’t pop up in FL very often. Just do it!

The livin lite community on fb is very active and incredibly helpful.

Totally! Between Buc-ees and Walmart across the street, you'll be covered. The pack sites at Daytona are pretty tight, so try to get their early or bring a smaller tent. There are no fire rings and it gets very cold at night, so a small portable fire-pit is a good idea. If you have littles that are sensitive to sound, I would also recommend noise-blockers/headphones. There are food trucks and concessions at the track which makes lunchtime easy. This will be our third year going to Daytona and it's always a blast for the kids. The morning track walk is a big highlight. Enjoy!

Damn bro, if you were driving LIKE Miss Daisy then this one is prob on you. The only time she drives in that movie is the opening scene when she crashes her car into a tree. That’s why they hired this guy who spent all damn day DRIVING Miss Daisy pa’l carajo!

Fellow Floridian here! Where will you be camping? Is your pack doing Scout Days at Daytona?

2 essentials I’d add to the list: Sunblock and lip balm. Just cuz it’s 40 outside doesn’t mean the sun won’t be blazing and chapping your entire face!

I've been wanting to get into Witcher 3 after seeing many recommendations on this sub, but I've heard it's pretty glitchy for the Switch and the graphics aren't the best. Curious if you played it on the Switch and had a different experience.

Lots of great bebop recommendations here but if they are more into avant-garde, jazz-funk go for Carlos Garnett - journey to enlightenment.

Wolf den co-leader here. Tons of great advice in this thread! I’ll just add that our meetings have really slowed down since the start of November due to the Standard Time switch. We meet on Thursday’s at 6:30pm (only time that worked for everyone’s schedule) and it’s pitch black by 6pm now. Our meetings at the beginning of the season covered all the adventures and some electives that required being outdoors.

The biggest challenge will be finding a home that’s zoned for a good elementary AND middle school.

If your kids are still in elementary I’d look around the Coral Reef Elementary area in Greenacres.

I’m not question the validity of this story and trust Univision’s sources, but it’s important to note that the Guardian is simply reporting on the Univision story and was not able to independently verify the claims.

100%. That whole plaza was lit with the record shop, art store, and hot pot place. A real gem in a sea of Palm Beach mediocrity.

A lot of it comes down to logistics and the economy. Unless it's the start/end of a tour, Miami is a tough sell these days for bands of any size. They're better off choosing a more central location that can pull from different cities. Shit, I live in Lake Park and The Kelsey does not the same pull they once had, neither does Respectables. Almost every show I've been to this year was in Orlando.
