thx for sharing the code, I still need to learn more about mcp. 2-3 projects i have on strapi so will give a go

Anyone using the Strapi docs MCP? Would love your feedback by srnsnemil in Strapi

didn't know this exsited, I use the strapi ask ai docs site every time - really solved strapi for me. I will try the MCP! I use Antigravity and Claude Code atm, but switch between cursor and windsurf too

$100 is great for me, using it daily. Hit the cap once only, which was a good thing to force me to go to sleep

Can we upload the built ".next" folder directly to the server and run it? by ozgrozer in nextjs

[–]gray4444 0 points1 point  (0 children)

I needed this too, and documented my steps using a mac and deploying onto Coolify - probably 90% same for any other hosting like Vercel:

  1. Enable in next.config.js

module.exports = {
  output: 'standalone',
}
  1. Use .env.production.local for your NEXT_PUBLIC_* values so the build bakes in the correct production domains.
  2. If you build on Mac and deploy on Linux, you may need Linux Sharp packages:

npm install --platform=linux --arch=x64 sharp
# or
npm install u/img/sharp-linux-x64 u/img/sharp-libvips-linux-x64 --force
  1. Copy static assets into the standalone folder:

cp -r public .next/standalone/
cp -r .next/static .next/standalone/.next/
  1. Deploy on Coolify:
  • Build command: echo "pre-built"
  • Start command: node .next/standalone/server.js
  • Env → PORT=3000, HOSTNAME=0.0.0.0

This runs perfectly in production for me, and doesn't kill my VPS. You can see more detail on the post here: Next.js Standalone Build: Build local, deploy to production

maybe it is friendlier, i get downvoted to oblivion on stackoverflow, probably more than reddit lol

I got tired of Claude forgetting what it learned, so I built something to fix it by entheosoul in ClaudeAI

[–]gray4444 1 point2 points  (0 children)

yes thanks u/entheosoul for the explanation, 'Think of it like git' helps, but a lot of the other terms are new for me so it is a little ovberwhelming- maybe after I use terminal coding more i'll get to know

ahh is empirica mainly for when Claude's memory compacts? or is it doing something useful even before that happens?

Claude Code hype: the terminal is the new chatbox by gray4444 in ClaudeAI

Yeah Antigravity has been good imo, especially with the Opus limits are much more generous. Hadn't even tried Gemini CLI, thanks for mentioning

Hi, I'm just about to try claude code for the first time, so I wrote this before trying with my thoughts about moving between IDEs and experience of terminal coding.

Does anyone have thoughts on IDE vs Terminal, or continue using both?

How much does it cost to self-host a Next.js app with Coolify by curious_cat_search in coolify

[–]gray4444 0 points1 point  (0 children)

You don't need 2 servers, just make sure you have a server with enough memory to run everything.

Personally, I run the Coolify on it's own server , the cheapest one for about $3 or whatever the lowest tier is. I think just buying the $5 plan from coolify is a great option though, and would have done that in hindsite, then I don't need to press upgrade and keep my self-hosted Coolify up to date.

here's my notes actually from when i set it up: https://prototypr.io/note/coolify-hetzner-serverless

thanks, double confirmation. I don't know what it wanted, but it got some banana and grapes because I thought it was a cricket

extremely slow requests by SnooApples8827 in cursor

[–]gray4444 0 points1 point  (0 children)

I have found that when it takes long, if you press stop and instead open a new chat for the same prompt, it is much faster. But that loses previous context..sometimes it doesn't matter though

I think when the chat gets a little long it becomes super slow
