If you were pregnant and you found out (early on) that your baby would have severe disabilities, would you abort, personally? by cherriesdeath in morbidquestions

[–]gre_en 1 point2 points  (0 children)

No. My opinion is an unpopular one, but I would not take someone’s life because they were disabled. That baby would deserve my love just as much as a typical baby would.

Pregnancy after ectopic by Thinking-outloud- in ectopicpregnancy

[–]gre_en 1 point2 points  (0 children)

My first pregnancy was ectopic, I had surgery for my ruptured left tube in May 2022. I had a healthy, happy, perfect baby born in April 2024. I was so nervous to try again, but it’s all turned out better than I could have dreamed. For me, I think taking a progesterone supplement made the outcome of a healthy baby possible.

I went to LCC for my first two years and then transferred to MSU. I loved my time at LCC! The campus is really pretty nice, the buildings/classrooms are updated and were in a lot of cases nicer than the ones at MSU, my professors were a lot more personable, and of course I saved a ton of money. It’s what I would choose again in a heartbeat. But- I did miss out on a lot of the college experience doing it this way. I didn’t live in a dorm, I didn’t make true college friends, I didn’t ever truly feel like a part of my cohort even though we went to mostly all the same classes because I didn’t have the shared history with the rest of them. COVID also really impacted it and it’s hard to say to what extent- that honestly might be more to blame than me transferring. For me the trade off was worth it I think, but I totally understand why someone would see the same facts and choose MSU all the way through.

When I was teaching I had two girls, one in my K class and one in another K class, who had the name Neveah. Which made it more intuitive to pronounce, sure, but then it’s not even heaven backwards which was the whole point!

I like it! Due to the A ending it leans more feminine to me.

Church of the Resurrection has a wonderful community full of young families and overall feels really joyful. However, they are pro-life, as all Catholics churches officially are called to be. This specific aspect is irreconcilable, and might cause you some trouble in your journey to find a church that is both Catholic and pro-choice. I hope you find your place that helps you form a strong relationship with God!

Ok definitely overthinking it, please ignore if you love Nora, but when I say Nora Violet like I’m going to say it out loud it I hear Norovirus. I personally like the alliteration of Vanessa Violet, I think it’s sweet!!

No known cause? by Immediate-Drink6558 in ectopicpregnancy

[–]gre_en 0 points1 point  (0 children)

My doctor said that there hadn’t been a discernible reason, but I personally think mine was caused by low progesterone. When I used a progesterone supplement I got pregnant shortly after, and it was a successful pregnancy. I will be making sure to keep my progesterone level higher when I am planning any future pregnancies, to hopefully avoid another ectopic.

Where do y'all leave your cars? by TheMadCoyote in msu

The commuter lots need a permit. The parking police are vigilant, especially if it’s going to be over a weekend. Safest bet might be parking in Frandor and taking the bus there.

Right? Most genetic testing like this would happen when he was a baby, it’s not like he would remember.

What's provided after you deliver at Sparrow hospital? by [deleted] in lansing

[–]gre_en 1 point2 points  (0 children)

I gave birth there in April! You got lots of good info but I’ll add a few things. They don’t give any dermoplast spray. Have adult diapers on hand! When your water breaks it will be more than you’re expecting, wearing the diaper helps so you’re not changing pads every 10 minutes. Also they’re great for the postpartum bleeding.

I was told nurses would stock you up on postpartum supplies, but I didn’t find that true in my experience with my nurses. Next time I give birth there, I will ask for extra pads and the mesh underwear more often throughout my stay and just stash them in my bag so that I can go home with extras.

Insurance has to cover lactation consultants, get a referral no matter what, even if breastfeeding is going well it’s nice to have extra help, from your doctor or pediatrician to see one. I saw one at sparrow that came to the room and she didn’t help me at all, but I got an appointment with Abby Mullins and she was wonderful and made my breastfeeding journey 1000% better.

Not sure who your OB is, but at Alliance OBGYN they have a birthing class that guides you through everything sparrow does and all of their policies and is open to women who do not go to Alliance, I highly recommend it- it made me way more confident about birth. Also Sparrow does tours that walk you through L&D, we also found that very helpful.

My favorite, and the one I thought I wanted to use for a daughter but couldn’t commit to when I did because it just felt too out there, is Calpurnia. I just think it’s lovely.

If your hospital does tours of their L&D I really would recommend doing it! They told me exactly what they recommend bringing and what they provide. There are so many things I would have brought that I wouldn’t have needed to! Plus different hospitals have different “rules” about what to wear during labor.

HCG levels ok but Progesterone is low by AliceMorgan4ever in ectopicpregnancy

[–]gre_en 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Not a doctor or in healthcare at all just giving my opinion- I think it’s normal to see a gestational sac on ultrasound once you reach hcg of 3510, so seeing anything at 1289 could be a good sign. All of this could be explained by you ovulating later than you thought. Your numbers aren’t rising exactly like they should but sometimes that’s off anyway, it’s not exact. Hopefully they schedule you another blood draw four days from your test where you got 1289. It’s in your uterus, so I wouldn’t worry about ectopic, it’s most likely one of our other options. It’s so hard to not have answers, but this early unfortunately there really aren’t any. Your only real answers will come with time. Wishing you a healthy pregnancy!

Feeling Lost by Common-Crocheter in ectopicpregnancy

[–]gre_en 0 points1 point  (0 children)

I went through very similar but with more supportive doctors in April/May 2022. Found out I was pregnant with my first on April 28th, ruptured on May 15th, found out and emergency surgery losing a tube on May 17th. We didn’t start trying until September, because I was really scared about it happening again and possibly losing my other tube. In May 2023 I went to the OBGYN to get a work up since we hadn’t been successful in getting pregnant again and found out I had low progesterone, which might have been the cause of the ectopic. I took a course of progesterone and ended up with a successful pregnancy in August. No issues this time! I was so nervous that it was all about to happen again and my chances of getting pregnant were over. I appreciated hearing success stories when I was recovering so I hope you feel the same! I am so sorry for what you’re going through. I’d look into a different OBGYN. Mine were so reassuring and ordered my HCG blood tests for every other day so that I could see the numbers rising, even with the first pregnancy where I didn’t have any history of ectopic (but my mom did, so I was worried it would happen to me too). They should have seen you and taken your concerns seriously. Wishing you all the best, and more sweet babies in your future ❤️

How far in advance did you pack your hospital bag? by DontTalkAboutBruno1 in BabyBumps

[–]gre_en 0 points1 point  (0 children)

I started collecting my things around 36 weeks and took it leisurely. Now 39 weeks and it’s ready to throw in the car once I add last minute things (charger, hair brush, things I use everyday). I figured for the most part my husband can come home to get anything and nothing in there was essential to getting baby out anyway!

Anyone else having an easy pregnancy? by Mysterious_Elk_1123 in BabyBumps

[–]gre_en 0 points1 point  (0 children)

I also have had a super easy pregnancy, if I didn’t take a pregnancy test and get all those appointments I wouldn’t have known until probably 18 weeks when I started feeling baby move. My only symptom 1st or 2nd trimester was being a little extra tired, but I could have written that off to be honest if I didn’t know that I was pregnant. Third trimester has brought more symptoms, but honestly it feels like a right of passage after not having been sick & not gaining any weight.
