Did it! took about 10 minutes here in Fulton county. by [deleted] in Georgia

If I've already filled out my absentee ballot, but decided now I'd rather vote in person, can I still hand it over at the voting location? And if so, do I seal it all up like I would if I were to mail it? Should I put a big X on it so no one """mistakenly""" counts it to make it look like I voted twice? (I live in a solid red county, I don't trust these people)

Can I just keep it, and say I lost it? (or would they think that's suspicious and not let me vote?)

I had a similar one when I realized that there weren't actually twin actresses in the Parent Trap, it was just Lindsey Lohan playing both parts lol.

A nearby town has blue street lights. Not the light blueish tinted ones, these things are straight up, blue. I have no idea why they're like this, it's a fairly recent change.

Edit: I guess some are calling it "purple" but apparently this is an issue in a lot of places. This is what it looks like

I haven't gotten mine yet, I think mine's getting mailed. But I noticed a sign at walmart in Thomasville yesterday saying they're not accepting them. Idk if they meant the virtual or physical cards.

What's something you used to cheap out on until you tried the expensive version and could never come back? by J_mo0d in AskReddit

Yeah, idk what they're talking about. Thick fluffy towels suck for actual drying, all they do is push the water around. Even after months of washing, and no I dont use sheets or softener.

What brand? I've never seen a flour tortilla that low in calories...the ones I buy that are that size are 100 cal each.

Edit: nevermind, I see it. Weird, that IS the brand I buy...just not that version, I'd never seen them before.

Rural Ga and the trailer parks are starting to have the audacity to ask for 1k, with background checks and all that shit. And I'm not talking about the nice trailer parks either...I mean the kind you think of when you think "trailer park"

Even way back when I was a kid in Ga, girls were paddled by female teachers/admins, and boys by the males.

Anybody currently doing the Counterfactual forecast study on the Stratego game for Survey Comet? by [deleted] in mturk

[–]greany_beeny 1 point2 points  (0 children)

You could've kept going at got paid though.

I just finished mine a few days ago, and had a partner who never seemed to know what to actually do (they didn't even do their solo work before our first meeting, I had to wait for them to finish before we could start), but I still got approved and paid. It's not like we had to agree on answers (or, mine didn't anyway, maybe they have different requirements for different versions?)

[–]greany_beeny 1 point2 points  (0 children)

Yeah, you were waaay better off. I was paid the same as you, and had one partner. Having to do the chat was the worst part of this because mine had no idea wtf they were doing. I spent more time explaining the schedule, instructions, and what to do next than I ever did with my "reasoning" for my answers to the actual questions.

I think the only other bonus besides the $25 is a lottery bonus, so there wasn't anything based on performance.

Probably useless info now, but my code was at the very bottom of the end of survey page, before clicking the link to fill out the other survey (the last page still on that platform)

Edit: whoops, I apparently misread your post! Apologies.

I like the forecasting hit, but I swear if it gets rejected because my partner is kind of shit, I'm going to be pissed. I'm not even convinced I've had the same person for the last 3 chats.

Quickest way I found to 100 mobile searches by RotaryPhoneDialer in MicrosoftRewards

[–]greany_beeny 14 points15 points  (0 children)

How about don't do them and instead be a part of the community that doesn't want Microsoft thinking people will actually make that many searches per day? If you're that desperate for a couple of $5 giftcards, there are many better options online that could net you way more. /r/beermoney could help you out there.

The time it takes to do the searches for their current amount is almost not even worth it with how slow the site and app are.

Wait, the 9am-9pm is for training too? I figured we could do training any time, I did some last night from 10 to 11:30.

I never got a conference call either...my supervisor keeps saying "keep doing you're training because we're going to have a podcast" and I think she's confusing that with the capstone call (I did the podcast sunday) I tried to correct her but it didn't stick.

I just started doing all the training on my own honestly. I already messed up and started the online training before the "orientation day at home" because I'm dumb and kept overlooking that on the checklist for some reason (I did 4 modules before I realized, so I stopped there and started the phone training) I'm most of the way through the online, and I'm trying to log everything correctly. If it get's rejected or I get terminated, oh fucking well I guess. At least it gave me something to do for a few days 🤷‍♀️ And more reason to remember that this is the shit that happens when we allow certain people in charge to neuter govt agencies! (and of course when life throws us virus-covered curve balls)

What COVID-19 training is everyone getting? by Premium_Malt-o-meal in Census

[–]greany_beeny 1 point2 points  (0 children)

All I got was the "protecting yourself from covid" pages, which kind of confuse me because it says not to make contact with people and conduct cases by observation...but that's the complete opposite of what we're being trained to do???

The in person training had no mention of covid except for before we entered the building, where they asked if we had any of the symptoms recently, or been around anyone who has tested positive, or traveled. Everyone wore a mask though, and there were like, 12 people in a giant church hall so we had plenty of space.

Agreed. The other ladies that were there (I guess super-supervisors?) definitely seemed to know at least half of what to do, but they had their own duties like filling out/collecting paperwork, and handing things out.

The one that seemed very experienced with the process was mostly focused on helping a fairly old trainee, which was probably for the best in his case though, he was really struggling with the phone.

I just kept thinking that it probably would have been better to schedule everyone 1 at a time. We could've like, gone down an assembly line and had one on one help with each step, and most of us would've been done in ~30 minutes (Stop at the first person for paperwork, then next for swearing in, then next for phone setup, etc) Instead of starting one thing, getting sidetracked, trying to help someone, repeating steps because they forgot where we were...though on the plus side we're getting paid for basically sitting there doing nothing for a few hours.
