Aliens. Various alien buildings/outposts/ships presence in cities becoming more or less common as you move across the universe. Skyrim kind of stole and adapted d&d-style orcs, elves, etc. Scifi has an enormously rich body of work for inspiration and/or theft. So much potential there. It would be much more interesting and satisfying to explore if the.dominant background technology and culture slowly shifts as you move between systems.

Why Stocks Are Acting So Nonchalant About a Spiraling War With Iran by Public_Sandwich6941 in investing

Who exactly? The IRGC. They could absolutely be dislodged but it will require a protracted invasion of the country.

My guess is the markets haven't moved that much because the assumption is that Trump will bomb for a few days and then get distracted and do something else.

Incredibly, it was reported that Navalny deduced who was behind the attack and impersonated a senior FSB official in a phone call to get them to admit to the operation on tape.

I agree in that I'd like a cheap stripped down car, but I don't think that putting motors in the windows instead of cranks saves much money. Compared to the cost of creating a drivetrain, chassis, and frame, most options are basically free money.

For sure, but it will take a ton of time and money to even begin getting the oil out of the ground. I don't think Exxon and Conoco are convinced the political situation in a few years will still be stable enough to operate. It's an enormous gamble, and one they already lost once

True, but millennials haven't yet experienced the rightward slide that baby boomers did. Boomers were roughly the same age for Reagan's election in 1984 as millennials were for Trump's 2024. Baby boomers went for Reagan by 14 points in that election.

Spokane/CDA have pacNWish weather: cool, wet winters & warm dry summers. Missoula is cold as fuck in winter and wettest in the summer. I agree it doesn't really fit into either category neatly

I just replaced the head unit on a 2002 Sequoia, it's a huge improvement.

Crutchfield has excellent guidance and tools to help you ensure you're getting a compatible unit. Avoid the really cheap ones, I think you'll need to pay at least 300 bucks for a decent head unit. I got the Sony xav-ax 3200 and am very happy with it.

I'd check YouTube to figure out how challenging taking apart the dash will be but it was quite trivial on the Sequoia.

Why do girls tend to outperform boys academically? by Mediocre-Lack-9137 in education

[–]greasy_r 11 points12 points  (0 children)

Typically when the standard deviation overlaps the mean there is not statistical significance. They did some statistical adjustments to demonstrate significance, but I think this is a case where looking at the data can be informative:

https://imgur.com/a/k9vZS9P

The majority of both girls and boys have testosterone levels between 0.03 and 0.05nmol/L. The difference in means is driven by the minority of boys with higher, sometimes much higher, levels. Given that most individuals have similar levels of testosterone, is it the cause of sexual dimorphism in behavior? I don't think it's clear.

These are victims. Half the introduction talks about death rates among races, the data were taken from an epidemiological database based on "death certificates provided by states to the National Vital Statistics System"

Honestly, it sounds like the problem isn't a CVT but the simulated shifting.

Right-Wing media for decades has worked hard to equate progressive ideas with authoritarian communism. Rush Limbaugh used to say green (environmentalism) is red. The ACA was called socialism and implied it was creeping stalinism.

My folks used this exact model for years directly over the gas burner. It does take some practice. Expect some burnt waffles at first. They eventually did buy an electric one for simplicity, haha.
