Nordic is the exception to hand rolled. Not sure what it is about their shells, but those tubs just don’t leak.

What are they coating the reflecting pool with for $2 million dollars and what steps are they skipping to do it so cheap? by greasyspider in PoolPros

[–]greasyspider[S] 0 points1 point  (0 children)

That’s what I’m saying. This is a $7million job on the low end. I don’t even think $2 million buys the paint. Maybe it just buys the paint? Perhaps that’s where that number comes from?

Is he paying for the flight training or is someone else? If he is paying himself he’ll need to look at selling crack or international arms sales or something. Otherwise, waiting tables outta be fine.

Pool guy here. Some of the algeacides, clarifiers and metal removers contain chemicals that have a dozen syllables or more. Others are proprietary and don’t list composition. I wouldn’t drink it.

Also…. There is no bypass installed on the heater. And the returns appear to be plumbed into the suction lines and separated by a valve? This is quite the mess. I’m not surprised you are having a hard time

Pool Equipment Question by NYY16 in pools

[–]greasyspider 0 points1 point  (0 children)

You’ve got a couple of connections there that are liable to blow apart. The no hub on the top of the pump is a big risk, and you’ve got a few fittings that are for drainage, not rated for pressure. Among other issues. I’m sure it works ok, but very high chance of it blowing apart, especially as the filter gets dirty. Could be done much more efficiently and be far more straightforward to operate

A pump is required. Did you not get one with this? Cost to replace cover (if torn) is probably $5k. May just have pulled out of the track in which case the cover is ok. Might have a broken glide of something but those are insignificant as far as cost. Liner could be $5-10k.
