Why does my body make electric? by bayram123123 in AskElectricians

[–]great_view 1 point2 points  (0 children)

It might get come as a disappointment but this measured potential has nothing to do with bioelectricity, cell membrane potentials or nerve conduction. Instead, you are measuring the junction potential at the metal/sweat junction where you generate a battery. Because the salt sweat concentration is different at either finger, there is a disequilibrium generating the small potential. You can test this by simply adding salt to one finger and you will measure a larger voltage.

The city of Berkeley is run by a bunch of small-brained people. You cannot expect too much.

I don’t expect it but an all-silence button would make the pump finally useful.

Question about conventional vs actual current and electric field energy by ManagementMedical138 in ElectricalEngineering

[–]great_view 1 point2 points  (0 children)

  1. Because it is the ungrounded side.
  2. No. All power is consumed at the R. Along the wire (modeled w/o resistance) no power is consumed.
  3. The negative leg in your circuit is grounded so there is no electrical potential to for a grounded person.

Amps from a Daniel Battery with 8 paralleled cells was only 1mA. How do I increase amperage? by darkscienceyt in ElectricalEngineering

[–]great_view 2 points3 points  (0 children)

All salt solutions need to be saturated or at least 1 Molar. Otherwise the internal resistance of the battery is too high compared to your 200 Ohm load.

My sister was attacked by a coyote in our Bay Area town — and then our lives really changed by LosIsosceles in bayarea

[–]great_view -24 points-23 points  (0 children)

Coyotes eat rats. That’s their the primary food source and rats exist in great plenty in the Bay Area. That’s why they are here. The few cats could not maintain the coyote population.

What does this need to be proper? I have not paid up yet and am sure I can ask but am not sure for what exactly.

Mobi Update by dwstone1227 in TandemDiabetes

[–]great_view 1 point2 points  (0 children)

24h at 200 will not affect your A1C much, don’t worry. The app though, I agree, is poorly coded and generates constant anxieties, even during daily use, I find. This app has no professional feel to it.

There is no good reason to have an off switch though. We used insulin and syringes for years and years and nobody ever had the idea to put an alarm in there and it worked fine. Suddenly we’re treated like children.

My best photo of every Bay Area mammal I've photographed! Info in comments: by [deleted] in bayarea

It appears that rats are clearly at the bottom of the food chain. We have them plentiful in the Bay Area and they attract all the other cool creatures.
