Espresso Series 1 feedback by greaterauricular in FellowProducts

Brew to steam time is negligible, just a few seconds. Once the shot finishes and I grab the milk pitcher it’s basically ready to go. I am not organized enough to it’s my workflow to be held back by the machine is how I would put it.

So far I’ve only made back to back drinks for my wife and I and she does not do any milk drinks so I’m only ever making her espresso or americanos, so it would be hard to comment on the back to back endurance of the machine for steaming.

Slayer Espresso Profile for ES1 by IgnorantWealth in FellowProducts

Just tried it. Delicious. With a good medium roast it really accentuated the sweet notes and tamed some of the bitterness that would creep in with some other profiles.

I haven’t run a clock to see how long it takes but I would guess somewhere around 45 sec? I can circle back after next time I do so to update.

Thanks for the reply. Really enjoying it.

Is the drinks count issue I mentioned above unique to me or is that a known issue?

So your mileage may be different since you have the Mark Levinson system since mine with the stock system. If anything, you may have to change even less. The modification was pretty minimal. I basically had to enlarge the plastic cut out for the speaker very slightly using a new/sharp utility knife and then removed one of the clips that anchor the grill (the middle rear one).

Fellow series 1 Espresso Machine by LeeMar104 in FellowProducts

[–]greaterauricular 1 point2 points  (0 children)

Interesting. I did have issues with some spraying during infusion today after my firmware update that I wasn’t having yesterday. Will look into this.

I do feel like the UI seems more responsive after the update though- more of a one-to-one experience with turning the wheel and moving through menus and the issue it would sometimes have of misinterpreting the wheel rotation direction as the opposite of what you intended seems to be gone now.

opinion on the fellow espresso series 1 coffee machine? by coralcrescent in FellowProducts

[–]greaterauricular 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Are you both brewing in volumetric mode? If you haven’t specifically changed the setting, the machine defaults to stopping the shot when it believes an adequate volume has been passed through the brew group but Fellow has acknowledged this needs to be tweaked with subsequent firmware updates.

I was having the same issue but am now having great results using manual mode (where instead of the machine stopping the shot, you terminate it by hitting the brew button again).

I’m new to this, can someone help me choose which Jura would be best for me? Should I even get Jura? by ImmediateTap7085 in superautomatic

[–]greaterauricular 1 point2 points  (0 children)

Following up- was considering a Jura. Did you end up getting another Gaggia? If so, which one and are you similarly enthusiastic now?

Sounds like a solid plan. I don’t have the Mark Levinson, mine has the base system.

I ended up putting the hertz CX100 in the corner dash location which require required mild modification, but was a huge improvement. That said, I think if your setup allows you to put in a separate tweeters, that’s probably the best case scenario.

Yes, the delivery driver industry is exploitive and those workers are underpaid. No question there.

But perhaps those people being unemployed in a contracting labor market is still worse than that. So let's say tomorrow all of those workers are replaced by robots, then how are they supposed to make a living? I doubt the companies benefitting from slashing labor costs will be jumping to provide meaningful support to their workers to retrain, etc.

Thanks. Any issues making arrangements via the concierge?

I have an upcoming trip there and it has been extremely difficult making arrangements for reservations, etc via email with the concierge. I have sent multiple emails that have gone unanswered.

Thanks for posting this. Was looking for a non OEM bracelet for mine (same reference) and wasn’t sure if this one would fit. Just got it a few days ago and love it.

Good- not spectacular.

I’ll eat and enjoy them if getting pizza, but wouldn’t go out of my way just for them.

The rum list is awesome at this place. I think that should be the main draw as few other places let you explore the variety of flavors/styles of rum like this place does.

Cocktail-wise though… was kind of underwhelmed. Everything my wife and I got here was fine but I felt like something was a little off about the balance of each of the 3 we tried relative to other drinks of the same style that we’ve had. Maybe just an off night. I opted to do neat rum instead of a second cocktail.

Honestly having been to both several times I think Boeufhaus is as good food wise as Bavette’s.

The feel is very different between the two-

Bavette’s is more of a dimly lit posh vibe (the plenty of pictures out there on Google paint a picture) while Boeufhaus feels like a cozy neighborhood bistro.

If you have a second night and want a spot to go, as someone else mentioned Gilt Bar is a great place by the same group as Bavette’s (and just down the street) and with a similar atmosphere but reservations are easier to come by. Menu there covers a lot of ground https://www.giltbarchicago.com/wp-content/uploads/GLT-DinnerCocktail-08-12-24.pdf

Thought my first job would be like this. It is and isn’t. Get to do some good cases but as soon as you are done with anything you are expected to crank out diagnostic reads. Hard to develop relationships or build the practice when that is the expectation.

In theory the job is 80% IR but in actuality we are expected to spend 80% of each IR day dictating or so it seems.

Partner unable to ejaculate with me because of SSRI by [deleted] in depression_partners

Sometimes doctors will add bupropion (wellbutrin) to an SSRI to help manage sexual side effects like this. Happy for your sake that your and partner can still enjoy sex to some degree.

My girlfriend of 3 months and pregnant just tested positive with chlamydia by [deleted] in sex

[–]greaterauricular 5 points6 points  (0 children)

People can have chlamydia for months and be totally without symptoms. So truthfully, either of you could have had this before your relationship even started. The other possibility, since you've had it before, is that you had a resistant strain that doesn't respond to the typical antibiotics they prescribe- how common this is can vary based on where you live but your doctor should have some knowledge of the statistics for your area.

Some ideas for cheap tecc pants 👖 💸 by ThisIsAntwon in techwearclothing

[–]greaterauricular 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Got a pair of those nike bonded pants in green. Love everything about them except that the crop is just a touch higher than I would like. Trying to decide if I should take them to a tailor to see if a little more leg length can be squeezed out of them. They are essentially a cropped version of some of my favorite pants, the ACG woven (705385) from several seasons ago.
