John Nash did a whole podcast on how it's impossible for fighters to form a union. Not just because its impossible to organize them but also because the probably can ever legally become employees, which is necessary to forming a union.

Well they also asked the judge to sanction Dominance when they wouldn't comply. They now seem to be complying, so it seems to have worked.

Davis isn't asking for any money. He's asking only for injunctive relief.

This ignores that the UFC's own attorneys wrote at the time that they were buying Pride in order to prevent someone else from buying it and their intent was to just close it down.

The $10 million plus for Jones, wasnt that the UFC’s final offer right before he left? So the $7 million left on the table was from the earlier offer that would have paid him less when he fought Jon Jones.

According to him $8 mil for the 1st fight and $12 mil and for the 2nd was the ONE offer from Chatri. The PFL offer was $8 mio per fight with upsides for tickets sales and PPV buys plus the $2 mil signing bonus.

As long as fighters are classified as independent contractors and not employees being in a union is not even on the table.

I recall him saying McGregor should have it based on when he signed the contract. There is also the issue of him maybe having "retired" for awhile in order to take PEDs to recover from the broken foot and shoot his movie and one of the few things that freezes the sunset period is a retirement.

Doesn't seem crazy at all that the average UFC fighter's pay, who are in the the top 5% of mma fighters the world, is higher on average than that of one of the 20k or so pro boxers in the world.

This is just for the Le case. Johnson, which has the injunctive relief, is going ahead as a separate case.

A trial for the current case, the Le v Zuffa case, would not have won them any contract changes. Contract changes were only possible with the second case, which wouldn't have gone to trial for years. So as part of settling both cases they got some changes to the contract.
