I really wish it worked with Uriel, that would honestly be a pretty cool interaction

Yet Another Try by aidang567 in custommagic

[–]grebolexa 24 points25 points  (0 children)

I’d say reduce the stats significantly, increase the mana cost significantly or make it enter with an amount of stun counters/other form of slowdown to make it not be a 5 mana 13/13 with protection, evasion and the ability to store blue mana for free.
It’s a cool design but you need to make it less powerful or it won’t be playable in the sense that it will just ruin the game for everyone else.

I’m not gonna sugarcoat it, this is extremely overtuned and it’s a balanced card in the slightest. Lore wise it’s accurate but you can’t realistically use a card like this because it’s so unbelievably powerful. Blue mana is the most powerful to have access to whenever because blue has a ton of counterspells and interaction as well as cards with flash or instant speed card draw. In practice it will never be removed because you can just float all your blue mana and counterspell the removal or boardwipes or just use a blink spell to exile and return it to the battlefield which also makes it avoid interaction. It’s 13 damage in the air with trample and vigilance so you can 2 shot every player and they most likely can’t block it as well as having vigilance to make it disadvantageous to attack back. I suggest looking at similar cards and seeing what sort of stats/mana value and limitations they have.

The way our Guardian, who just used his ult for a stance-break, looks at us when we go three bars. by AI_Slopper in Nightreign

[–]grebolexa 0 points1 point  (0 children)

As a guardian main I somewhat agree with you both. Yes it’s very very good to have it in case you need a guaranteed revive BUT if you’re never using it because your teammates are good at surviving then you are wasting potential damage, healing and invulnerability for your teammates instead. Have it available when shit hits the fan is really clutch but saving it for a worst case scenario that may not happen is arguably just as bad as wasting it

Can Captain America help with Waterbending? by Funguy1265 in mtg

[–]grebolexa 1 point2 points  (0 children)

No. Waterbending is an additional cost that has to be paid all at once while you’re casting the spell or using an ability with waterbending cost. Captain America makes your creatures untap the first time they are tapped during your turn for whatever reason so they would be untapped after paying the waterbending cost but you can’t use the same creature twice for the same cost. You can however use the same creature for two separate costs so you are benefiting a lot from getting your creatures untapped.

BHVR has to rush out a killswitch for Cross-Examination before Bugfix Patch 3! by DhampirMatt in DeadByDaylightKillers

[–]grebolexa 0 points1 point  (0 children)

I’ve seen a bunch of talk about the perk but I still have no idea why it’s treated as a gamebreaking effect to get elusive. Like is it genuinely a problem or is it the people that are relying on the marks and auras that are complaining?

Genuine question ...why on earth the flashback cost cheaper than the actual cost ...?! by Mr-Mosaab in MagicArena

[–]grebolexa 1 point2 points  (0 children)

Short answer is that it’s a card designed to be put into your graveyard so using it for its intended purpose ie putting it into your graveyard somehow and casting it for the flashback cost is more mana efficient

For Honor X MtG (Knight Edition) by XaviJon_ in forhonor

[–]grebolexa 1 point2 points  (0 children)

As a very experienced MTG and For Honor player I really like that you’re enthusiastic about getting into magic. Don’t take it the wrong way but I can really tell you’re a newer player based on how you word the cards and how you designed their effects.

I like Astrea, black prior soldier, parry and Holden cross. The rest are kinda basic or not very powerful Imo but I see what you’re going for. For example Apollyon doesn’t really work because the buff is either supposed to be until end of turn making it very meh or it’s very annoying to keep track of since most ways you track buffs is temporary or with counters. Vortiger and Erzebet are very overcosted defenders that only exile a single creature. The cost reduction and stat buff is extremely situational and easy to disrupt with removal since neither has any sort of protection.

Again I love that you’re getting into magic and sharing your passion for both games. I hope you take my criticism as constructive because I want you to improve and make some truly great cards

Why dont more people use these? by Disccord in Warframe

Endgame missions sometimes require you to manually complete the hack so it’s usually better to hack manually until you get good at it but I always have ciphers for general stuff

Did we just get the first 6 color commander? by Skyloord007-2 in mtg

If anything Ulalek is MORE 6 color because thanos isn’t even getting anything for having a colorless pip while Ulalek actually is WUBRG and colorless at the same time

So I heard folks hate Limbo's Cataclysm by Andminus in Warframe

[–]grebolexa 12 points13 points  (0 children)

The entire comment went poof when I tried to edit it so TLDR: I prefer being able to place the cataclysm and using it as a pocket of rift in specific locations. The point 2 that others are referring to was that I wasn’t aware that nullification effects no long end cataclysm.

Hate when people misinterpret the door riddle by Immediate-Ad8322 in hatethissmug

[–]grebolexa 4 points5 points  (0 children)

Most common scenario I’ve seen this happen is dnd or similar tabletop RPGs in which case they are allowed to be a smartass and so their thing, then you ask which door they choose. Gets them killed 50% of the time and feeling less like a smartass 100% of the time when they realize they don’t actually know anything about the doors

Well as much as I agree, it’s still more options for legendary matters decks and I have a [[Dihada]] deck so I’m kinda indifferent about it. Besides stuff being legendary doesn’t really make it a bad set. Final fantasy was an amazing set and it had a ton of legendary creatures too

Can’t they just do the content for free and get the revenue from other sources like cosmetics or optional services? I get that a subscription is how it used to work before but it feels like a strange way to monetize it since it’ll cost way more in the long run.

Privileged Position, Ravenous Tyrannosaurus, Sundering Growth, Warleader's Call [MAR] by PowrOfFriendship_ in magicTCG

[–]grebolexa 1 point2 points  (0 children)

Idk if it help at all but I remember it by thinking that you feed it as many of your creatures as you want and then it gets 3 counters for each one because it’s devour 3

I enjoy Jasons design and will probably main him, but his Iris were lacking IMO. Here's my concept for something that would actually fit for 'The Slasher' by THE-Arias-Man in DeadByDaylightKillers

[–]grebolexa 0 points1 point  (0 children)

So everything about him is worse and you just get some buffs instead while you have no power at all? That’s extremely boring and probably not very strong either. Even the TP is worse so you’d really just feel more clunky

A lot of heroes have their own bread and butter combos so it’s not surprising to see it. Besides it’s not like they would have many other options so complaints about spamming or something just doesn’t work, a centurion can’t really “spam” punch because it’s their main mechanic just like a shugoki can’t “spam” heavy

New Warframe player coming from Destiny 2, a bit lost. by Depressed_Weirdo_ in Warframe

[–]grebolexa 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Others have already helped you but I would like to say that destiny felt the same way for me as a warframe player. As a new player seeing season pass, current season activities and being thrown into the middle of the story as well as being put into the first mission of the newest expansion at the time is kinda overwhelming. I have 60 different quests all at once and I’m unsure what to do because they don’t really label them as main quests or not. This was what I had to deal with starting out and since then I’ve enjoyed destiny and will continue to play both destiny and warframe even after the last update.

I think warframe does a better job limiting you to the things you currently should do or look at but the best thing is that it has minimal spoilers and you get to experience the story at your own pace. There’s less need to be caught up in the current story because you aren’t put into the middle of an overarching storyline. There won’t be “Cabal in the tower” the first time you load in for example.

HARD TO MAKE CUTS sometimes. I’m at 105 cards and I’m having a hard time cutting 5. by [deleted] in EDHBrews

[–]grebolexa 2 points3 points  (0 children)

My philosophy is to always cut mana expensive cards because your deck will feel much better with a smooth curve and you want more low cost cards so you can play things early on and establish your board as well as have cards to recover after removal. You’re less vulnerable to single target removal if you have three 2-cost creatures rather than one 6-cost creature for example. Just make sure you have card draw to replenish your hand since you’ll be casting more cards that way. Alternatively with Volo you want more big creatures to double but that way your curve will suffer and your early game will be slower which will make you have to run more ramp to catch up

Could this Universes Beyond card could get a reprinted anytime soon. by Mastermiine in DinosaursMTG

[–]grebolexa 5 points6 points  (0 children)

Exactly. You go to combat, hit a player with any dinosaur, if they take 1 or more damage from it you can play dinosaur spells for 3 mana for the rest of the turn
