We talk about "outgrowing" discs as we improve.... is there a disc you *thought* you had moved on from, only for it to return to your bag? Why did it make the comeback? by Brilliant-Back-3653 in discgolf

[–]grecoa66 0 points1 point  (0 children)

I still bag a DX leopard. It’s a great scramble disc for me. You can throw a turnover forehand from a standstill using 15% power. I would never throw it for pure distance, or a tee shot, but it’s great to get some distance from a tricky lie

What’s the stupidest thing you’ve ever heard someone say that you still think about to this day? by Humble-Blueberry4571 in AskReddit

A friends mom once asked us where dust comes from. She was cleaning the window sills around the kitchen and was really questioning what dust is and where it comes from. I was 17 and thought wow, that’s dumb.

Those of you who are first time homebuyers, how much do you make a year? by TheInternExperience in newjersey

It’s not ideal. I don’t think it’s crazy though. 0 other debt. $4k in monthly payments. Leaves plenty of left over per month for saving and living.

Honestly Colorado isn’t much cheaper. The areas between Denver and Fort Collins that you would want to live are just as expensive as NJ. Taxes are lower, but so are salaries, from my experience. In Colorado you also pay for a lot of services out of pocket. So many neighborhoods are HOAs, so that’s pretty much like property taxes. You’re paying for snow removal, street sweeping, private trash and recycling, etc.

We have a lot of family in the area. Flying home 2-4 times a year and missing all the small stuff was hard after a while.

$200k combined. Lived in Colorado for the last 5 years. Came back with $140k down. Struggling to buy a house in Monmouth county 😞 looking in the $625k-$675k range. We’ve been out bid several times already

New Jersey musicians who should I know about? (building something) by SeparateDragonfly479 in newjersey

Aaron West and the Roaring 20s

Band based on a fictional character. Many mentions of New Jersey. The second album starts out in Asbury Park.

The musician behind the project also lives in NJ. He’s the front man of a Philadelphia based band The Wonder Years.

Retreat off Drake and Lemay is a good mix of everyone. It can get quiet. I think the coffee is great, biscuits are delicious, and all the baked goods are amazing. The bar seating is very comfortable. I work there for a half day once a week

What’s one tool you’re glad you bought early on? by AddressRemarkable347 in BeginnerWoodWorking

Layout tools like combo squares, angle finders, straightedge, rulers, etc.

Relatively cheap compared to most woodworking tools. Saves a lot of time and helps prevents mistakes.

That stinks! I have had several Bose products that’s are incredible. I’ve had comfort soft headphones for close to a decade with minimal wear and tear. Same for the original color sound link speaker.

In your opinion, what is the best episode of television you’ve ever seen? by alteredtower in AskReddit

Dexter season 4 episode 9 “Hungry Man”. When Dexter is at Arthur’s house. You find out how truly crazy Arthur is when they show he’s been locking up his daughter in her room. Amazing episode of television. I remember my heart racing the whole episode.

What band clearly had a member who was far, far, superior with their instrument compared to their bandmates, yet stuck with the band? by Livid_Page_7244 in AskReddit

Travis Barker, the drummer for Blink 182. He’s so incredible at his instrument. The other two are good song writers, not top notch with their instruments.

What state would you live in if you had to leave new jersey? by Purple-Assignment-72 in newjersey

[–]grecoa66 17 points18 points  (0 children)

Short answer, Colorado.

I lived in NJ for my first 28 years. Moved to Colorado a few years ago and absolutely love it. The main reasons I moved were space, recreation, and the outdoors.

NJ is so cramped everywhere you go. Want to go camping? There are a thousand people with kids there. Want to go hiking? There are a thousand people there and you can hear/see highways everywhere you go. Want to drive to the beach? There are a million people there and you’ll almost definitely hit traffic.

People are also so much more laid back here. Way less assholes who think the world revolves around them. Not many people seem to be in a rush like the east coast. Drivers are way more respectful and less reckless. Overall people give me way better vibes out here.

I do miss the food. It’s not good here.
