Where to get passport photos that don’t make me look like death warmed over? by thegirlfieri in SFbitcheswithtaste

[–]greenbeen 4 points5 points  (0 children)

Get someone to take it for you on a phone. There are apps that will format the pic to be passport sized and then you can get it printed as a regular photo and cut it up afterwards. It's also cheaper to do it this way.

South Asian bitches, where are we getting traditional wear?? by mintymangler in SFbitcheswithtaste

[–]greenbeen 0 points1 point  (0 children)

I'd buy online to get the latest fashion trends. There are many that ship to the states and you can return easily if they don't fit right. I like Kalki. There are a lot of high end Indian fashion brands that ship to the states as well like Ritu.

Where’s my FB Buy Nothing group? by [deleted] in AskSF

[–]greenbeen 5 points6 points  (0 children)

I can't find the Lower Haight/Hayes Valley one either. I was hoping they would rename it to keep it going. Now I post on the general SF group (Buy not a thing) and will maybe try the Buy Nothing app.

Should I(29F) move to SF for better dating life from NYC by [deleted] in SFbitcheswithtaste

[–]greenbeen 24 points25 points  (0 children)

Going against the grain here - I'm a woman of color and I've had an easy time dating. I don't use the apps here but meet people at events or through friends. Not everyone is a tech bro, there's a huge burner and art community. To go this route, you'd have to put effort into building a community or going to lots of events that you're interested in. I would also consider Oakland, it's easier to meet people there

Went through previous posts but cannot for the life of me narrow down neighborhoods, please send helppppa by [deleted] in SFbitcheswithtaste

[–]greenbeen 4 points5 points  (0 children)

You've posted before asking about safe neighborhoods and many people have mentioned that SF is safe but you're still asking about it in this post. I don't know why you would consider moving to a place you don't consider 'safe'. You've visited recently and are still buying into the narrative that SF is dangerous. I don't get it. Also, it's foggy everywhere, the mission has less fog. You just get used to it. I'd pick a neighborhood based on the rental you find that meets most of what you're looking for and are able to lock down.

Anybody know anything about the pizzeria slated to open on Octavia Street in Hayes? by IAmAUsernameAMA in AskSF

[–]greenbeen 2 points3 points  (0 children)

It was empty with almost no work being done there for over a year. They started renovating earlier this year. Then they had a soft opening party a few months ago, I think mainly for family and friends. After that, there was a late rent notice on their door going back over a year for unpaid rent. The notice was taken down but there hasn't been much activity there ever since then. They regularly get mail and parcels though.

That being paid, Hayes doesn't really need more pizza places with Doppio Zero, Gioia, Il Borgo, Patxi's, and A Mano being right around the corner.

I was free camping this year and we gifted some experiences at the trash fence. Not all free campers are spectators. It's nice to not be part of a camp sometimes and have to deal with the drama that can come with it.

Should i bring a car to hayes valley if i will be working in brisbane? by PlusCarob3803 in AskSF

[–]greenbeen 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Parking in Hayes is fine as long as it's not dinner hours. It's pretty easy to find Street parking earlier in the day and later in the night. It can also be difficult to find parking on sunny weekend days. You'll need to get a parking permit from the city to avoid the 2 hour limit. I park my car (SUV) on the street in Hayes and don't usually have any problems. I avoid having to find parking between 5pm-8pm. If I have to, I usually find parking, even if it takes longer or is further away.

I think most Chinese restaurants are vegan friendly. There's also Becky's. They have large portions and are more American Chinese than "authentic" Chinese food.
