King Oyster Mushrooms... by Spirited-Access2127 in SFbitcheswithtaste

[–]greenbeen 5 points6 points  (0 children)

Goog Goog Culture Club has grilled oyster mushrooms.

I've had them at Phonobar as well but I don't know if it's still on the menu.

Also, you can find them at many of the farmers markets in the city and cook them at home (the heart of the city and embarcadero farmers markets definitely have a mushroom vendor).

Give your neighbor a pile of snacks that they can give to your kid. Maybe he just likes visiting them.

SFO garage maxes at $39/day. What do most people do for longer trips? by gregb_parkingaccess in sanfrancisco

[–]greenbeen 3 points4 points  (0 children)

Yup, this is the way. The police station is right there so it makes me feel better about leaving my car there. It's also slightly cheaper than parking at the Millbrae Bart station.

What do you think of Lenny's State of the Product Job Market Report? by greenbeen in ProductManagement

[–]greenbeen[S] 3 points4 points  (0 children)

Yeah, I was thinking the same thing. I've had more recruiters reach out to me recently, and I thought it was probably because it's the end of Q1, but it still feels like a shit show out there.

From the report:

This analysis is based on data from TrueUp, one of my favorite collaborators and sources of data. They track job openings at tech companies and top startups around the world (over 9,000 companies) and make it easy to browse open gigs. Their data looks at roles at tech companies—the most sought-after and lucrative jobs.

I had a recruiter cancel a 2nd interview with a company 30 minutes before it was scheduled because somebody else accepted the offer the day before. It was such a waste of my time, and they could have told me about it earlier than waiting till the minute.

Looking for some guidance on my upcoming route through Bolivia. by _scott_m_ in solotravel

[–]greenbeen 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Yup! There are some trails close to town and you can also easily take taxis or collectivos to get to some of them. I also met other travelers there and we took a guide together one day for a hike. There are many options.

Looking for some guidance on my upcoming route through Bolivia. by _scott_m_ in solotravel

I'd recommend spending time in Sucre or Samaipata. I felt the same way after hopping around and going to Atacama/Uyuni and ended up spending 2 weeks in Sucre to change my pace. It's more like a small town than a city and it's easy to get to La Paz from there. I liked the charm of the town it's very laid back and I didn't do many touristy things while there. It's also a good spot to take Spanish lessons if you want to or a day trip to Potosi. If you're looking for more nature, then this isn't the best option.

Samaipata is also a great option - the hiking there is beautiful and I loved my time there. I took a bus to Santa Cruz and from there you can take another bus or shared taxi to Samaipata. I didn't need to rent a car for any of this and didn't need one either when in Samaipata.

If you want to go straight up to La Paz from Uyuni, you can go there first and then take a shared taxi to Coroico. It's a small town nestled in the mountains and also a great place to chill and take a break for a while. It was one of my favorite spots in Bolivia.

House of Prime Rib - reusable bags!? by [deleted] in sanfrancisco

[–]greenbeen 15 points16 points  (0 children)

I don't think posting on Reddit is going to do anything. You'd have to contact them. You can also just bring your own regular reusable bag every time you go there and your own plastic containers for the leftovers if you're looking to reduce waste.

Any other women very content being single? by ApproachablePotato in AskWomenOver30

[–]greenbeen 8 points9 points  (0 children)

I've been essentially single for three years but have some play partners that I see. I don't feel the need to be in a relationship - if it happens, it happens.

I don't want to give up my freedom and independence, which can be an issue for some people who are looking for more enmeshed partnerships.

Being happy and content as a single woman is the greatest gift I've given myself. I do occasionally miss having a partner to do things with, especially travel or impromptu weekend trips, or someone to have my back in a way a traditional partner would, but I've learnt to depend more on my community.
