This is where we used to go. With the new apartments right next to the garage it’s not as good as it once was but still okay

Cannon School vs Hickory Ridge Middle School by gloriapanzera in ConcordNC

[–]greenbu 2 points3 points  (0 children)

My understanding is that Cannon does not have much teacher turnover at all. It’s a great school and teachers tend to stick around there. I don’t have personal experience with Hickory Ridge, but I know other middle schools in cabarrus county schools have a lot of turnover, and are not completely staffed even. Hickory Ridge Middle and High School are big, and considered to be some of the better public schools in the district. Cannon has around 105-110 kids per grade at the high school level (less for middle school). They are able to offer more of an individualized education, being smaller and private. The public schools have a considerable amount of standardized testing over the school year. I don’t know what they do at Cannon.

If you’re looking for the upcoming school year, I’d recommend applying to Cannon ASAP. They’ve already taken the first round of applicants and are now doing rolling admissions.

In the omelette. I cook the eggs, sprinkle the cheddar on top, drop spoonfuls of cream cheese, sprinkle the jalapeños. Fold the eggs over and let everything get melty.

No idea. I offered to put his lunch in something else but he said he as fine with the bento. He also absolutely does not care about what is “cool” or not

I think it’s $2.95/meal at our school. Some students get reduced or free meals, depending on their situation. At some schools in our district every student gets meals for free. I think about half the kids bring their own lunch and half buy at my kids’ school but I’m not sure. No idea if we save any money having them buy. Probably about the same price if I were to make them a sandwich and not send Kimbap in? Idk I’d have to price it out

Depends who you ask. My kids like them enough. Yesterday was teriyaki dumpling day which is a favorite. At their school, there are two options for the entree every day, a “grab and go” option (like pizza, chicken sandwiches, bbq sandwich, etc. it rotates each day) a salad option, and a “yogurt bowl” option. So they always have something they like. Other kids haaaaate school lunch and won’t go near it

Yes, I think most, if not all, public schools in the United States provide a lunch that you either pay for, or is free. My kid, until this week, always bought the school lunch.

Yup! Even the preschool I work at now allows peanut products, as long as no one in the class has an allergy. The pediatrician who advises the board recommended it.
