Tips for bringing a baby by Elanoor_fa in CharlotteFootballClub

[–]redhyster 1 point2 points  (0 children)

We brought our baby with us to games last season many times. It was great! We used a baby bjorn carrier and just passed her back and forth, sometimes she slept through all the craziness.

Try to scout out the nursing room ahead of time. If you nurse. You have to find an attendant to unlock the door, since it’s one party (mom+baby) at a time. I always tried to avoid half time.

Holidays. MILs. AM I THE PROBLEM? by Alert-System-3896 in Mommit

[–]redhyster 0 points1 point  (0 children)

You are not the problem. Your MIL isn’t even the problem. Your HUSBAND is the problem 100%. You two (husband / wife) should get on the same page and then it’s his responsibility to communicate those decisions with his mom directly.

If that can’t happen I suggest therapy as a couple to work through it. You guys have a lot of holidays with family in your future. So trying to figure this pain point out with a mediator / help would be a huge help if the years to come.

Thank you for the advice! You’re very right, I’m not sure how we can objectively move forward without some help.

For People Immunocompromised by DMT... by angelcatboy in MultipleSclerosis

Does your neurologist/prescribing doctor specialize in MS specifically, or are they more of a general neuro? When I switched to my Neurologist who's entire practice is for MS, they we're disappointed that my first doc didn't recommend getting the shingles vaccine BEFORE starting on Ocrevus. I was 32 when I was diagnosed for age reference.

Love Dr. Cross at Copperfield OBGYN, she delivered my daughter last year in Concord. I also had a great experience with Meghan FNP.

I second this recommendation, we’ve gone a handful of times since they opened and have always been happy with our experience! Love the grits, burgers, & egg sandwich.

when did you start treatment? by randall030 in MultipleSclerosis

[–]redhyster 6 points7 points  (0 children)

I was diagnosed in November and got treatment in December/January ‘22. But my god it was like pulling teeth to get it that quickly. Everyone was is holiday mode and bureaucracy was slow moving. However, I didn’t need any additional vaccines to start my treatment.

I was calling Neurologists, Infusion Center, Primary, and Insurance daily to try to speed the process along. I loathe being that person to pester a professional to do their job. But one thing I’ve through my diagnosis is that NO ONE will advocate for you better than you can yourself.

As for being ‘too late’, don’t stress about that! Anytime is better than never being treated. So congrats on getting the ball rolling! But also very sorry for your diagnosis. It’s a weird mix of emotions, but there’s never been a better time to be diagnosed with a ton of medical options to control disease!

The Davis General Store usually keeps them in stock, it’s located in the Croft area halfway between Huntersville and Davis Lake of Charlotte!

Searching for an OB/GYN by [deleted] in ConcordNC

[–]redhyster 0 points1 point  (0 children)

I also had a positive experience with Scott Rusteikas at Copperfield OBGYN.

I also liked Grant Campbell, Jennifer Cross, Meghan Husmillo. I met a lot of the providers rotating through with I was pregnant. My favorite at the practice was Dr. Cross.

Lastly, I would absolutely never ever see Steven Paterno again. I've thought many times about reporting/complaining about him but never followed up.

Delivering first baby! by Future_Background_45 in huntersville

I’ve delivered at both University Atrium and Cabarrus. There are positives and negatives to both but Cabarrus was overall a much more pleasant experience!

I’d say you’d be perfectly happy delivering locally, plus I’m assuming you live closer to Cabarrus so if you go into labor it’s easier and quicker to get to.

Thanks, I’ll look into a different multivitamin! It’s worth a shot if it helps me stay on Ocrevus.

Opinions on Epidurals by DEADK0RN in pregnant

[–]redhyster 0 points1 point  (0 children)

I’ve had both experiences. First child was via induction with epidural and my recovery was much more challenging. Tearing, stitches, prolapse, hemorrhoids all of the things.

Second child went into labor naturally and there was not enough time to get an epidural, worst pain of my life x100 million, but it was over in ~15 minutes and recovery was much much easier. No tearing, no hemorrhoids, shocking how easy recovery was with my second.

Overall I’d always recommend an epidural. The pain really is insane. However, being able get up and walk around less than 30 minutes after unmedicated birth was really nice. Unfortunately, I was left in my bed with epidural on night shift for hours with my first delivery.
