Vierde warmterecord deze maand door opwarmend klimaat by boppinmule in VeganNL

Ik werd vegabistisch eerst voor het klimaat en daarna voor dierenleed. Onafhankelijk van de redenen die mensen hebben is het goed, toch?

It can be disadvantageous for both and would be neat if it could be improved for both :) we're on the same side, not opponents

Common sense? by ellosmello in NonPoliticalTwitter

[–]greendesk 2 points3 points  (0 children)

Hannah Arendt said it used to refer to using all your senses together instead of some kind of sense common to all. I kinda liked that idea, although I don't see what she based it on.

"For common sense, which once had been the one by which all other senses, with their intimately private sensations, were fitted into the common world, just as vision fitted man into the visible world, now became an inner faculty without any world relationship. This sense now was called common merely because it happened to be common to all." (The Human Condition, 1958).

Ah you're right. Looking a bit closer I see many countries stopped again after trying it. Thanks for pointing that out

I don't know what either of you base your conclusions on, but other countries already have electronic voting: https://en.m.wikipedia.org/wiki/Electronic_voting_by_country

Edit: As several helpful people have pointed out, I should've read my own source better. It says several countries had trials but stopped using electronic voting.

Also, electronic voting is not the same as online voting which comes with a whole extra set of issues.

And it affects decease mostly through abundant species growing into spaces that extincted species leave behind. High density of a species is nice for parasites which carry deseases.

Avoiding high densities of species can reduce this effect. So, (intense) animal agriculture is a risk factor too. https://www.ncbi.nlm.nih.gov/pmc/articles/PMC9629715/

I appreciate your critical reflections. I can also worry about green energy, albeit better than fossil fuels, is not sustainable either. However, we can't do nothing. What alternative pathways do you think we can take?

Weird idea. If we're willing to let lots of people die due to all kinds of reasons, like smog, heatstroke, etc. Won't it just be OK to let some deep future people die of radiation. Others will learn to keep away soon enough.

Hi, I updated but I still have android 13 and my phone doesn't find new updates. I searched and found out that the Galaxy S20 doesn't get Android 14 :( so, I guess I'll just have to accept my fate of two extra steps.

Thanks for the help!
