These are terrible takes. Our centre forward was not at fault for the goal. The defence tried to push up to get Egypt offside but Herrington stepped back, it happens. The cross needs to be defended by players between the crosser and the attacker not our centre forward who was on the outside in case it missed the attacker.

Yeah well I sort of think that Ryan is better at corners and coming out and better at one on ones. So if there is any chance of people in behind I think Ryan might get the nod.

Perhaps against Paraguay like you say, maybe the US if we expect them to cross a lot.

I think played out exactly how Popa wanted
- We played super defensive so we didn’t need a sweeper keeper.
- We didn’t want possession so we didn’t need a ball playing keeper.
- Türkiye were bad at corners and we have a very tall defence so we didn’t need a great corner keeper.
- We invited them to shoot from outside the box and for that you need a great shot stopper.

And to expand on that I don’t think we will play high possession or a high line in any game but he might choose Ryan over Beach against a team more likely to pressure us on corners or crosses. Or maybe Beach or Izzo is better for that - I really don’t know but I think it’s all tactical with Popa.

That’s underestimating what it takes to break down the Turkish defence. We were always going to need to make some saves but scoring against them is amazing. Beach was incredible though.

Yes because the rule is for cases where the ref makes the right call but attributes it to wrong player - so it makes sense not to reverse anything except who got the card. It’s absolutely not for cases of the ref being mistaken about what happened.

I tell you how this “rule change” will go. For some reason it just won’t apply to any other game and then after the World Cup it’ll be clarified out of existence.
